Ego z6 mower DOA wont start up. Completely bricked.

Just had the issue where the green circle around the start button would come on and the batteries would illuminate, but it never beeped acknowledgement and the screen never came on, and the mower would not operate. Took the batteries out several times to try fixing it, and nothing. Apparently I was not keeping the batteries out long enough! I popped them out the day before the repair guys were picking it up, and when we stuck the batteries into it when they arrived - it fired right up! 5-10 minutes wasn't long enough, if you have this issue, I'd say at least try leaving them out once overnight!

My wiring in the frame near the forward battery indicator wasnt clicked in all the way apparently......but this could have been the time that I needed a new screen.....who can keep up!? 🤣

Mine's doing the same thing only the red light above the screen is on. This piece of crap is a year old and has been in the shop for repairs twice. Now this screen not lighting up has me thinking that it will never be reliable.

@@aaronsearch1189 tell them to check the wire harness in the frame underneath the floor battery indicator by your feet.

Please let us know what they found. I bought mine in April 2021. So far no problems. Did u happen to do a firmware update? I seen this happen if the firmware update didnt complete.🤷‍♂️

I did it a month ago. Used it all week with no problems.

Returning it on Friday....it is fixed. Replaced lcd screen. The mechanic at the authorized repair facility said that he doesnt get a lot of the z6 mowers in but that this is the second lcd screen issue. Lcd was shorted out with no indication as to why or how. The only thing that I did different was plug a phone charger into the usb....cable only.

@@nathandingman6846 they had a shipping company pick it up in a truck and take it to an authorized service center.

Here we are.......no mower delivered......Ego never set up transportation or sent bill of lading.....even though they told me on Tuesday that they would. I postponed a new job for a week just so I could be here for the delivery. This was literally the only time that I could be here. Ego customer service extremely rude on the phone....told me....oh well its friday and too late to do anything.....i have called them several times today since 1pm.

It took 8 days to get mower back...after repaired....due to shipping company ( old dominion) refusing to pick up uncrated mower 4 times!! Ego finally paid for a hot-shot delivery company to bring it to me.

@@Texasprepper Thanks for the info as I am doing my research on the Ego 52" battery zero turn and customer service and repair location and price or 2 of the most under rated and often unconsidered points of concern when considering a product. Most people think of price and specs, but forget about WHEN they will have problems with a product where, when, and how much it will cost to repair it and how easy is it to get customer service to respond and fix the issue.

Yeah but it keeps breaking down and then its a meltdown to get help and it is gone over a month!

Don't use the usb charger unless you've updated the firmware.

Mine just died, only have two hours on it, lcd screen is black start button stays dark, ego wants me to drive it to a repair shop 50 miles away and I have no trailer….

They should have a trucking company pick it up and take it for you...demand it. The repair shop is 50 miles away from me too and they handled transportation.

@@Texasprepper I returned it back to Lowe's and they actually had some that were still unassembled, stored in some waterproof plastic. So I exchanged it and have had no problems with the replacement. I called Ego and told them that the mowers were being stored outside in the elements and they were horrified and said they would be contacting Lowe's.
