We have a male 1.5 year old Giant Schnauzer/Newfoundland mix (about 115lbs) and a female 1 year old Newfoundland. Although their personalities are similar when it comes to loyalty and affection, the protective characteristics he displays are IMPOSSIBLE to miss. We jokingly say “he’s the bite behind her bark” but it’s 100% true.

I only been around a couple of them.They where very high energy and Aggressive.I dont thank there for a novice owner.

Kind of hard to stereotype a breed with two encounters with dogs of unknown breeding and who knows how they were raised. Just saying..... I am thinking that ours might be slightly superior.

I agree, it should be an experience owner, just as with german shepard, dobberman, rottweiler etc. The giant schnauzer is generally very kind and friendly, but they are guard dogs, and they can bark and jump to scare strangers of all species, off of the property...😊 They also need a lot of excercise & training and they eat a lot! 😊 Treat a GS right and you"ll have a best friend for life!!

They definitely are not for a first time dog owner or small dog owners. Giant Schnauzers want you and only you and will not hesitate to show another animal even to death how it is. But I loved having my 5 in the house with me. All have passed quite some time ago. I have a working line Giant Schnauzer now instead of show lines and they are truly a beast when you get a good one. 90% of the time you NEVER have to train your Giant Schnauzer to attack/protect yourself or kids because it's comes naturally for them PLUS this is what they do! They are your protector and you are theirs and they remember that protection and guidance you gave them when they were fully developing...about 2 years. These dogs are usually on Crack until about 2 years but only slows down some. 😂 If you work with them on a very regular basis you will have literally a best friend and part of you for life. It is extremely hard not to love this smart, stubborn and loyal dog. Mine, except 1 female turned out awesome....she was evil! 😅

Thanks. We've been building our breeding and training programs for close to four decades now. Success is for those willing to take their passion and add hard work and dedication to craft. I hope it shows in the work we do. We've posted well over 15,000 videos of our work at this point. If that isn't proof of concept I am not sure what else we could do.

You could try stopping your desire to put your feeling and opinions onto other people that didn't ask for it. I understand that in your country "Non-Dog" people make the rules for dog people, but that is not the case everywhere in the world. Some countries still have people that like to make choices for themselves and don't need the government to make decision about what to eat, where to travel, what to buy, how to speak and think and how to develop dogs for them. Enjoy your life. Do as you please and let others make decisions for themselves. Ok? And....If you would like to know why we choose to crop you could just ask. I'd be happy to explain why we do what we do.

Giant schnauzers are junk for protection. Get a KNPV Belgian Malinois if you want a real protection dog.
