With the statute of limitations, victims with dissociative amnesia have such a hard time getting justice when they remember what happened to them. Victims 100% can forget or block out what happened to them, some never get the memory of their trauma back until years upon years later or even at all. If you do remember what happened to you, you wont forget it yeah, but over time with therapy and healing the effects will fade until you're able to live your life without constant fear. As a chronic migraine suffer I can in fact say that needing to be keeled over in a pitch black room with a trash can is not the defining trait of whether something is a "real" migraine. There are different types of migraine with different severities and each migraine you get can be on a different level it can heavily vary between person to person. The main form of migraine I suffer from is vestibular migraines which is vertigo and nausea. They were bad enough that I had to drop out of regular school in middle school and move to online school because of how severe mine were before we figured out some good treatment and sometimes they still get that bad. Vestibular migraines are still medically classified as a migraine and is absolutely debilitating without treatment and still can be at times with it. And as I've gotten older I've been able to tack the headache variety onto my list of migraines. Both of these are usually made more tolerable when at their worst if I curl up in a quiet dark room but it's not always necessary. Loud sounds like loud music can trigger them along with lack of sleep but again the levels and causes can differ between people. The idea of someone trying to gatekeep freaking migraines of all things really ticks me offer.

gatekeeping in music has always irritated me. as someone with autism, my sort of hyper-fixation is with certain bands and artists, i only listen to a handful of bands or artists, and am usually obsessed with them, knowing all there is to know about the band, from how the band was formed to knowing every member's favorite food, and also having everything involving the band, like deluxe versions of every album or movies they cameoed in as well as lots and lots of merch. but even with my obsessions of certain bands, if i meet someone who likes the same bands as me, but are only a casual listener, i don't interrogate them on if they're a real fan or calling them a poser if they don't know every single bit of trivia about them, because nobody likes assholes like that. i usually have normal conversations with them, like asking them their favorite song by that band or artist, recommending other songs by them or sharing the bits of trivia i know about the band, y'know, normal shit. it's perfectly fine to be a casual listener, more than fine actually, you don't need to be a super-fan to enjoy a certain band or artist's music, you can just, like their music because you like their music. and if you are a super-fan, that doesn't make you better, that simply means you really like a band or artist and are extremely dedicated to them, which is fine, it's good to have something to be dedicated to and there's something magical about meeting another super-fan, but you're not better for being a super-fan. it also sucks when you are a real fan, but get called a poser by some neckbeard behind a screen because you only have digital copies of their albums or something stupid like that... stop gatekeeping music, music should be able to be enjoyed by everyone, whether you're a super-fan or a casual listener.

About the migraine one... For a long time I wasn't sure they were migraines or not. For me they're bad but not world-endingly so, and curable with cheap off-the-shelf drugs. Then I started getting "fortification spectra", which are a dead-on migraine symptom. A migraine in your visual center. So yeah, you can absolutely have mild migraines.

RWBY is an amazing show. I love it. The story is deep and complex, the fantasy elements and combat scenes are over the top in a good way. The animation style and characterizations are fun an colourful. It addresses a lot of important topics like human rights issues, grief, family/friendship and trust, and perseverance in difficult situations. I'm honestly disappointed Rooster Teeth took it off KZfaq after a few seasons to cash in on DVD sales instead. I think a lot more people would enjoy and benefit from the show if it was still easily available. Gatekeeping work exhaustion though… in high school I was an extreme introvert who worked as a gymnastics coach for young kids, and damn that shit was so exhausting I’d be _done_ after my 3 hour shift. And people at school would always be like _“why are you complaining it was only 3 hours, I work 6 hours”_ or whatever and just- just shut up. I’m allowed to be exhausted after being “on” for 3 straight hours running after kids and demonstrating skills all while not being allowed to sit down at all.

I'm 17, born in '06. My mom (1979) was always a very nostalgic person, and still is. We also were quite poor when I was young. So we didn't have a DVD player until I was like 10 years old, despite them becoming a thing in the late 90s I believe. Walk-men, VHS/VCR, cassettes. I grew up with that stuff. Most of what I had early childhood was in fact stuff from the 90s. But then Millennials will be all "Oh you don't know, you're not a 90s kid" Like...ok dude?
