Fully agreed. That's why I'd say James is definitely the superior player. The guy that did 74 games even admits he got lucky at least a dozen times if not more. I didn't see the whole 32 game run from James but he had a few points where it could have gone the other way too...I believe it was like 2 or 3 games? James could of easily won 74 or even 100 games, or he could of even lost on his first game. Take away the DD's and James would win 9 out of 10 games against pretty much any of the top players. Except maybe Brad...we'll find out in January if he truly is worthy of the title of being the best! Or will James take the top spot?

I realize people are majorly disappointed, but I hate how all these James Holzhauer trolls are belittling poor Emma and discrediting her by saying James lost on purpose. She's an awesome player and beat him fair and square. Also props to Jay. He did quite well too, but couldn't quite nail his buzzer timing. So basically James was competing against two really excellent players as opposed to the regular weak sauce opponents he regularly faces. Congrats to Emma on beating James! Hoping she goes on a long winning streak herself.
@galeforce3192
@galeforce3192 5 жыл бұрын
She put up a good fight for sure; Alex said himself in the game that there was only one incorrect answer in the entire game. That being said, the fact that she snatched _both_ Double Jeopardy dailies makes it look like it came down to sheer dumb luck. I'm pretty sure that if James got just one of those two, he would've won. I've been watching Jeopardy since I was a kid, and if there's a pattern that I've noticed, it's that these giant-killers almost never win their second game. If she wins her Day 2, I'll honestly be shocked.
@jackson5116
@jackson5116 5 жыл бұрын
@@galeforce3192 there's a little bit more to it too. Yes, she got 2 Daily Doubles, BUT, she had to have the guts to wager all of her total like she did on the 1st one she got. If she doesn't have the guts to do a James play (all in), she wouldn't have had enough to surpass him. Plus, if she gets it wrong, it assures James wins, because she'd have fallen so far behind she couldn't have caught up, even with the 2nd Daily Double- you see then how conservative she played it with only $3,000, most don't go all in like James did, they play it conservative, but her big wager putting her ahead meant it was going to be a true battle for James to win at that point. Daily Doubles, buzzer timing, and knowledge are keys to winning the game.

I'm glad to have been proven wrong; the giant-killer curse was starting to bug me. Nice to see that she was able to back up her win from yesterday and that it wasn't just dumb luck. Now that she won Day 2, and in a runaway at that, I'm curious to see how far she'll go. =)

@galeforce3192
@galeforce3192 5 жыл бұрын
@Riley Hun I think that lady was the sole exception (so far) of getting it to 2 games. Even so, Buzzy's a bit of a small fry compared to the rest; he didn't even make it to 10 wins (due to James's winning streak, Buzzy's isn't even on the Hall of Fame board on the Jeopardy site anymore). Arthur Chu, Seth Wilson, Austin Rogers, Matt Jackson et al. all won 11 games or more. One could bring up how the one who defeated Buzzy might not even count since his winning streak was a single-digit one.

She HAD to make her first Daily Double a true daily double, it was the only way she'd have had a shot to beat him, because he was controlling the board like usual.

It seemed that our champion James didn't play with the same intensity that he had in all the other games, also he only got one jeopardy bonus (I believe) and that was early on for only 2 grand. On the other hand Emma ruled the jeopardy bonus and bet heavy, (fearless betting she most likely picked up from James) and got the answers right which built up her confidence and she stayed slightly ahead of James later in the game. But something wasn't quite right with the champs game, I think he just simply lost the will to win, figured he has enough dough and it was time to go! James has definitely changed the way Jeopardy will be played from this time forward. Congratulation to a great and humble champion! And good luck to Emma!

@@uncleandy2478 still long days each time. The amount of taping is heavy, but so too are rehearsals, and all the stoppages of plays- it's not 30 minutes of taping per show, the amount of time is long (Ken Jennings talked about it, and why his 75 straight games is just insanity).

When James hit the daily double in the first pick, I shifted uneasily in my seat. I knew this was not a good thing. He couldn't make big money. And Emma had also read the book and was using the buzzer more efficiently, and she was very knowledgeable. James realized that in Double Jeopardy when she hit the Daily Double he was toast. If he had not picked the Daily Double in the first round he'd still be on. Emma lasted three days. And was brought back for the Tournament of Champions. Why? She wasn't a champion. Usually it takes 5 or 6 wins to make it to the tournament. But the producers wanted to bring her back so James could finally kick her ass. Not fair to her, but he was better. He's now on The Chase. Where is Emma? A librarian somewhere?

She didn’t last long after she beat Jeopardy James! To me Jeopardy James is still the champ over everybody! He’s smart he a gambler! He bets big n is not afraid to he hardly ever misses a question n he seems to be a nice guy! N out of the people that I mean it doesn’t matter what u do with your money it’s your money no matter what but he gives to charities!!!!! But I still can’t figure out how Ken Jennings won when it was the best of seven games n he won three games! I could be wrong but I watch Jeopardy every night n if I’m not I DVR it! N I even watch the that comes on at o’clock it the morning I’m not up but it takes so I watch the day there usually the best ones from old shows! Jeopardy James will always be the champ to me they should one more rematch cause like I said I could be wrong but I do believe that Ken only won three games!! N Ken wasn’t pls like he usually was play he was playing like James was he was betting everything he knew he had to do that to beat James!!!!

Wonder, if they played 25 games, how many James would win? We'll see now if she lasts anywhere NEAR as long as James, and if her average is anywhere near, his average. Good for her, but this game has luck too--like when you get the daily double/doubles and IF you get the daily double/doubles and so on. We'll see how she does---if she loses right away, it will be like the person who finally beat Ken Jennings--which is "who"? cause no one knows, or cares.
