Def enjoyed this vid thank you! Have 105k on the 03gt and about ready to send it with a single turbo system. Why did you have the pistons in upside down. Valve releifs go up toward the intake. If the pin is off set to reduce slap, you may have inadvertently created your noise by having the offset the wrong way.

An interesting tear down, re-sleeve that same block would be fine, save you a few bucks too. ...maybe run a slightly tighter (.002'') piston skirt to wall clearance as well. That'll reduce blow-by and get you a buncha power. There's your 1st 7 sec ET next year.
@andrewlavender085 жыл бұрын
Ted Cregger you read my mind lol. I’m re sleeves g the block and going to a 3.6 bore to unshroud the valves some.

Cool! Everything but the block wear and that one thrust bearing look great. It's amazing how much the stock parts can handle these days. I think I saw something a while back about using Darton sleeves and that they make the block a bit stronger, is that right or not?

Robert G the block is already strong but it’s weak point is the cylinder liners so going to an aftermarket sleeve make a deadly combination

Good video again brother!!! I personally love the tear down and rebuild videos. So just so you know and hopefully you see this in time but MMR just released their Black Friday sale and their billet hurricane oil pump is 289 down from 400. The billet chain guides are 40 percent off. Last but not least the billet crank gear is 53 percent off and I think I found a mess up on their site but if you go to the billet crank gear page and go to the bottom you can add the billet trigger wheel for 32.93 by checking the box. Normally the wheel is 115 by itself. Get it before they fix it lol. Plus many other things on sale. Sorry for a long comment but perfect timing on the video as I just checked out of thier site and clicked on youtube. I spent alot on their site and figured I would pass it along.

i didn't catch what oil pump you're using, but the new melling M360HV's are super great. like 150 bucks, 80psi, just have to run a cobra pickup on the 2v's(15/16th) since they are sold as 4v 5.4/5.8 gt500 oil pumps but being modular motors...you know...might help with your heat/oiling on the thrust/mains

Have a question not regarding your motor tear down. In some of your other videos I see you switch between radials and bia ply slicks. Which do you prefer? On the fence on my next tire. Mt pbr’s or bias ply slicks. Auto car that mainly sees the track only should be running high 9’s next season. I was running the et street ss’ and did pretty well on them this past season, just wore out quick

@Oldsoldiersays5 жыл бұрын
well the 2v motors don't have the same cooling issues on #8 that the 4v motors have. These motors are super simple and bulletproof in comparison to the 4v motors. I'd suggest get a set of 'red' coated pistons from MMR, believe they are manley, they make some wild claims about the coating, perhaps they'll toss you a sponsor.
@TrojanHorse19595 жыл бұрын
I saw that too Tadd. Cleetus was pretty sure that they lost a head gasket and water leaked into the cylinder and it hydro-locked when he tried to start it later. Just one of the many things that can go wrong and come back to bite you with a high performance, boosted engine.

How damn BORING a passtime ....I dont mean the balls to the wall machines designed from the ground up...I mean guys buying just cars and then spending a small fortune of their family assets to go a few seconds faster in a straight line boring ass 1/4 mile. A lot of it just as silly as hell IMHO ....I mean if I REALLY wanted to have an 11 second 1/4 mile time? Dougie, if you don't get it then keep scrolling... Guys like you are not really men. If a fast car doesn't intrest you, or excite you, you probably have sand in your vagina. And as far as the bike comment goes bikes are fun, but anyone can jump on a bike and go fast. But it truly takes skill, and passion to make a slow car fast. And at the end of the day you accomplished something. If you paid any attention you would have noticed that his wife enjoys helping him work on his car and is interested in his passion. Go change your tampon and smoke a pole.
