Really good tip that lends itself to most grills, I've done the Revell 69 Camaro and the MPC Grumpy's Vega so far ..... and if I keep procrastinating I'll have been working on my Camaro as long as you have. LOL 🍻

This has always been one of my favorite mods people do to kits. It adds so much to the look of them. When I did this the first time it was a 30s truck and I was nervous to start but when but it was done it added so much to it. I think it cracked in a few places since it was so thin but still looked good. I hope you get that Camaro done for the acme it will look really cool.

I do the same with my grills. The only difference is that I'll use an Emory board (nail file) to finish it up after the sanding disc gets it down. I'm too clumsy to use the knife like that. Lol!

Before I commented I did this to the Revell 1956 Chevy grill and that went well. I can see how to do it for perfection and this is used for a weathered build so a missing strand works in this case. The Revell '55 grill is much thinner and starts to take on a punched screen door effect. These are kits that I built in the '70s and now are being rebuilt as beaters with stories in them. I know you're a big Revell '56 Chevy fan if not the tri-five series.

Can You help me out please. What was that stuff you said takes care of the grill if you can't thin it? Photo edge? And in one of your vids you showed a way how to get the black on a chrome grill. You said it was black wash. I googled "black wash" and nothing came up. I also went to Tamiya website and I couldn't find it. Can you tell me what that is and where I can get it? I'm new at this. Thank you

First time I tried this and the grille cracked on my 69 camaro motor city. I also bought a cheap dremel from harbor freight that has no speed control so I used light pressure. Do I need a different dremel or does this only work on thick pieces

Those are those 2 piece soft plastic slicks that use to be in allot of Revell kits in the 80s and 90s. Everyone hated them. Not me. I got a bunch from everyone that just tossed um.
