Жыл бұрынBrannstrom progressed this year and took some steps in the defensive zone compared to where he was last year. When Thomas Chabot got injured and was out for a good portion of the season, Brannstrom had to step up to the plate. The 22 year old was solid in his own right and got top power play time to show off his offensive ability. Throughout various parts of this video, Brannstrom can be seen using that crisp pass of his. He is also very good at manipulating and freezing defenders, on the offensive blue line in particular. Unfortunately he left a little more to be desired in terms of goals, as he didn't score any in the 53 games he played this season. Luckily Brannstrom is still young with room to improve and is a solid piece for the Senators moving forward.

Kids got potential.. wish he could stay consistent!! Wonder what kind of chances they'll give him this year, or if he'll be trait bait

Wouldnt give up on him yet. I think they are still trying to use Brannstrom, he has to get stronger his size is his disadvantage so he has to figure out a way to conquer that, he is only 22 year old defensemen and he is a very smart player, if you notice that when he shoots he has potential to rebound it to the right guy, he also knows how to skate and control the puck . Even if he was a 3rd pairing defensemen he would be a great fit and the coach is also probably figuring out how they can use him to his full potential.

@@Redguard-Nazeem 100% agree. His 2 biggest downfalls are his size, and consistency.

I think in a system with more talented players to complement him, and a team much quicker in transition (like at the end of 2021 season) Brannstrom has all the qualities to go off. Only question will be the defensive side which has been a big issue, but he could legitimately run a powerplay and be insulated on the third pair with a guy like Holden, he should have his best season yet.

@@pat6146 watched plenty. hes a young dman with struggles but has shown plenty of good signs too despite being put in bad situations. Hes played at a top 4 level every time he wasn’t stuck with someone like josh brown

@@kingkairos2437 ultimately I agree that we shouldn't give up on him, but he really needs to bulk up if he's going to be successful as a defenseman. Like king karl did, just not to the same ability as brannstrom is smaller than Karlsson even
