The problem with these people is that they have so much resentment... so when they are sober reality becomes too much for them. In the 12 step program geting rid of resentment is key to recovery.

I loved the questions you asked in this interview! You always treat your interviewees with dignity, compassion and empathy. Hopefully Shannon will find the strength to see her worth and battle those demons and get back to her children. She has so much more to offer in life.

The interviews are very well done! You let people see the person under the addiction and can almost visualize then before the drugs. Simply by getting there background growing up and what caused them to go the path they did and then simply ending with questions to show that there like everyone else. Well done. Helps break down the barrier of looking at addiction one way with negativeness. Let's you see that can happen to anyone at anytime with one wrong decision and the power of addiction over people.

As someone who has been raising another woman’s child for the last 11 years (my stepdaughter is 13 now) I can truly tell you your daughter is not better off with you. My daughters birth mom is and Has been in active addiction for her entire 13 years of life. She only ever had custody of her for the first 6months of her life. She has been coming in and out of her life for years now. Recently she contacted my daughter in December and that was the first time in almost 5 years. My husband and I went against our better judgment and allowed her to see her and it was only 2 visits for her to blow her off once again and disappeared since January now. It took almost 3 months to help our daughter cope with that abandonment yet again. So speaking from this side of things, I can honestly tell you don’t be in active addiction and try to mend that relationship with your daughter cuz it’s hell on the kids to go along this crazy roller coaster ride of addiction (which I can speak from experience we used to struggle really bad with crack for almost 4 years) but PLEASE get help for YOU and then reach out but don’t ever think your kid is better off without you.

She was a very good interview! Has alot of knowledge and experience getting sober. I feel she can get there and just not to give up. Those kids need her whether she feels so or not. Every child deserves to know the mother and who the real version of her is. You got this!

AWWW thanks for sharing your story my sis, I have always worked very very hard, but by age 16 with a fake picture, I becasme a STRIPPER and then escort in Miami, and I graduated high school early, was on my own and boy did I bank that money, I never been homeless, because I worked in what we call " jack shacks' in Florida and they was all throughout our state for my teens and twenties, hated it, but I was hot and young and proud, but you can turn it all around, u will soon be blessed, I pray for u I pray for HUMANITY.... Bc them of is with a soul, we are different than the mostly useless humans, that are monsters, most of us ADDICTS, take karma a whole different way, bc we know hurt and pain, I love you girl, and tell the camera man to tell me how I can send u things
