Ive always liked barbs and admired them in other folks tanks, then i started watching you tanks about 2-3 ish years now i find barbs to be a very great group of fish to keep, i think they would do well with some semi aggressive and peaceful cichlids. Your not a barb addict?? Denial is the first sign😂 hey its ok to be addicted to them every fish deserves a champion to stick up for them, and chris your the champion of barbs 🎉100%

Very cool video! I don't know why 6 seems to always be the "magic" number for schooling/shoaling fish on websites when doing research on keeping a fish. As you've pointed out here, that's not always true. When I first got cpds (Also ciprinids), everything said 6, so I got 6. That was almost a disaster until I got more for a total of 10. After that, they were fine and peaceful. Barbs are beautiful fish, some of my faves are the Denison, Arulius, snakeskin, and the adorable little butterfly barbs. Don't we all wish we had the aging qualities of barbs! 😅 Great video, Chris! 🙂👍
@stubbsaquatics6080

Ya I totally agree. Not sure where these experts got 6 from lol. 8 at the very minimum.. just like you said for your fish.. unbelievable eh

Great video Chris, thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish!. You got me hooked on the Odessa barbs lol but I wouldn't change them for the world. I even had a small spawn from them. My lfs will always say that barbs are a dangerous fish lol. And like you pointed out they are very peaceful if you have the right number and setup. Thanks again my barb acholic full view mate 😊

Man those Odessa barbs are nice. Almost got them but having angels stopped me. I don’t have angels anymore but my tank is full now. I also love the filament barbs and mascara barbs but somebody told me they eat plants… now that that has been debunked, I’ll try them some day when my tank has more room. You’ll love those denison barbs. When I upgraded to my 240 and had them in plastic bins for 5 hours, I was sketched out but I was very surprised that none died. Same with when I picked up some big ones from other people and I didn’t lose any of those either. In my previous experiences, I’d always lose at least one or two when I’d move them or buy them off people.

Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I knew you would be the one to know more about moving Dennison Barbs. I am still nervous about it but definitely going to do it. The Arulius and the mascara barbs as you see leave plants alone for the most part. My plants don't have issues. My bristlenose are harder on them. Thanks again
