I have a MEC600 .410 3” and I run this without the spring. The spring or a nut. Just the wing nut.

When loading .410 bore, when wouldca guy benefit from a 6pt crimp? Also when is an 8pt crimp best?

The standard crimp for .410 is 6 pt. Unfortunately, with the very small dimensions of a .410 hull it is very nearly impossible to get a satisfactory 8 pt. crimp. We strongly recommend going with the 6 pt. in .410 (and 28ga) as it is much easier to form and save you time and frustration. Thanks for your comment!

All of the loading data and major manufacturers us 6 point crimps any time loading #6 and larger shot.
