I recently got an f2 thrust exhaust for my motorized bicycle and in this video I test it out as well as trying to make it run better with different carburetor settings. If anyone watching knows a better way to tune my bike please let me know in the comment section below :).
Here is the link for the youtuber that gave me some help, his KZfaq name is LA Hover.

I took my exhaust tip off, sawed the baffle off, drilled three quarter inch holes in the tip, drilled six quarter inch holes in the sides of the pipe, put the tip back on, and I have high performance exhaust now. I am waiting for my bandanna pipe to come in the mail. I doubt it'll be any better than my homemade job but I'll see soon. Wish I hadn't ordered the aftermarket pipe now because this works really good. It's slightly louder but has a ton more low end power. I weight 225 and I don't even have to peddle at all to take off.

Chain tensioner issue,, drill a hole thru the tensioner and frame big enough to put a 10/32 bolt and grip nut combo to keep it from moving , It's a final one time fix once you know the perfect position to run the tensioner. Spark plug reading. I do mine at half throttle and full. White plug motor go BOOM!!!😥 Tan/ light brown/ dry run it like ya stole it, it's purring right👍😏 Black crusty wet and just looks nasty, its rich ,, a needle adjustment might fix,, look into your fuel mix(maybe to much oil) , rejet the carb ( go down in size/number till plug is Happy Happy Happy😆😆

@@jgbelmont What is the float? Going to have to search youtube for whatever that is and how one adjusts it.
@WhiskersTheFish
@WhiskersTheFish 3 жыл бұрын
A float is a plastic floating piece inside of the float bowl. When fuel enters the float bowl the float rises, pushing a small pin into the top of the carburetor. The float does that to basically make sure the engine is getting the right amount of fuel. When tuning sometimes you need to adjust the float because it could give you the wrong amount of fuel.
@ChristopherJones16

@@WhiskersTheFish makes sense now. I was wondering exactly how that needle disc adjustment worked too. Ok so that’s little area of the carb is the float. Thanks for clearing that up. Are there multiple jets?

LA Hover I plan to build a 4 stroke bike this summer around my birthday time with some money I am saving up. Motoos makes a 4 stroke and it has good reviews so I will get that engine from amazon and I was thinking of putting it on a huffy cranbrook. What do you think? Are the cranbrooks good bikes? I heard they can fit 4 strokes, what is your opinion on that?

It seems like the jet size is one or two sizes to small. It's being starved at idle at correct air mix settings. when you run it rich the air settings are now not enough to keep the motor alive. Temp plays a role in this as well you know. Colder it is harder it is to atomize gas. When you changed that pipe out your changed the motor dynamics a bit of how it breaths and gas comes along for the ride. You went from free flow to a bit of chambered back pressure. To which gas is not a bit lower in the air fuel mix. If you had more gas coming in and the carb was one say clip setting two from the top it would be in the ball park to give you a better chance to idle cause the mix would be more even out in proportions you need for all 3 ranges of the motors running states. then from there you would have to adjust the idle speed. Option 2 is you get a carb with a High and low range for jets and it kills the whole issue. like a Pz16 or a OKO carb has.

Funny enough the day after this the bike would not idle at all. I turned to Reddit and with some help I’m going to be changing the float level. I’ve been told that will help it idle and with changing jets, float, and clip I can get it tuned perfectly. It’s been 3 month of frustration tuning this pipe.
@BuildBreakFix
@BuildBreakFix 3 жыл бұрын
@@WhiskersTheFish This is common when you add a chambered pipe. Especially a one size fits 1000 motors type lol! Your jet size will always almost increase a bit. gas level in float thing never got how it's suppose to fix that kind of issue that is more of a no gas to run kinda thing. Your runs fine. Just needs to be set to a leaner setting with a slightly bigger jet to maintain correct air to fuel mix to run correctly. pz16 would run that bike perfectly out of the box pretty much with factory settings. seems common that pipe
@BuildBreakFix
@BuildBreakFix 3 жыл бұрын
Like an Example! When I added one of the MZ6 clone pipes to my yd100 I had to jet up 4 sizes to get the poor thing to run in lower ranges or I would end up to where it would be almost jerking it's self to death as you slow down or like you said high rev and not go back to nice rolling idle. @@BuildBreakFix in my case is there an exact setup you would reccomend? Jet size? Clip setting?
@BuildBreakFix
@BuildBreakFix 3 жыл бұрын
@@WhiskersTheFish the problem is you jet your carb based on where you live. If your in the hills, or near the ocean, or even in dessert vs tropical jungle the same bike with the same parts will all need different jets and such because it effects the carb that much. Humidity for example vs dry air there could be a huge change in air fuel mix rates. It's why you never get a exact settings list for these kinds of things! Best start would be see what jet is in your carb. Buy a cheap set on Amazon. Go 1 size up or 2 sizes up. Put your carb clip dead center on your needle. Turn idle screw in all the way. Till it stops lightly! Turn it out 3 full turns. That would most likely be the best starting for jetting. Just by sound the motors makes. Educated guessing! Then fine tune it after it warms up fully! If the motor is cold you will end up with lean settings after it warms up if you try to fine tune the idle.

Awesome build dude! I love the sound of the idling. I'm getting a racing head and one of the F2 exausts like the one you have. The only problem with my bike is the carburetor, and it keeps the engine reving or running when i have no pressure on the throttle. If you know any way to fix this, please let me know!
@WhiskersTheFish
@WhiskersTheFish 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I believe the problem you have is an air leak somewhere on your bike, probably near the carb or intake manifold. When this happens the engine will have more air than it needs causing it to rev. when the leak temporarily closes, the engine will try to die or sputter for a while. Since the day I got my bike I have had an air leak where the carb connects to the intake manifold. That is the most common place for an air leak to be .I still have not completely sealed mine yet, mine is about 80% fixed so it's ridable but not perfect. You should take some WD40 and spray where the carb connects onto the intake manifold when the engine is running. If the bike revs up high or tries to die right after you spray than you have an air leak there. If you are buying the F2 thrust pipe and racing head cylinder be read to tune your carb a lot. You must buy carburetor jets for your bike because it will need a good tune. There are many tutorials online and if you want you can keep replying to this comment if you want me to help you. Before even putting on the exhaust or cylinder head you need to seal the air leak or problem you have first. If you put the exhaust and head on before sealing the problem them you will have a hell of a hard time trying to figure out why your bike does not run even though it's tuned well. I found this out the hard way and I had to take off my thruster to try to fix the leak I currently have. I am currently replying from Pompano Florida as I'm on vacation. When I get back home I will try to fix my bike and have another video come out soon. I know I have not posted for a while but I've been busy recently. Look forward to more videos and good luck on your bike. Reply to this for any updates you have or if you need more help.

By the way, with a good tune on my bike and the thruster I was able to get my bike up to 41 mph! It was very scary going 41 on a bicycle but I was not even at full throttle and I'm sure I could have gone 45 if I was. I think when my bike was tuned like that it was perfect but again it had an air leak which caused bad idle and that lead me to believe it was tuned wrong so everything went to hell after that. Make sure to finish things before starting something new, it'll save you in the long run.

@@WhiskersTheFish Hey dude i've found a solution to it. There's some little lines for where the carb connects to the pipe that goes to the engine, and i've had to push it more towards it so that there is a complete seal around it. To make sure it was air-tight i used some electrical tape like another video suggested. I'm not sure if the vibrations will set it to where it was before but it's raining right now so i can't test it.

24:27 are those big bins on the side of the road recycling bins? Man our city gets these small dinky 10 gallon bins half that size. We need 2 at least here for how small they are. .Same goes for the paper bins which are 2' x 1' 1/2" roughly in side. paper and carboard easily over-fill the bins they give us. Man wish we had those big bins.. they look like theyre at least 20 gal.. Must be nice.

They are both recycling and garbage bins. For example I have a compost bin, garbage bin, and a recycle bin. The compost and recycle you might have to pay for from the city. I know you have too for the compost for sure. I’m not sure of the recycle though.

To bad those exhaust blow oily exhaust all over your back wheel. Bad design fail on exit. Had to cut mine off. Was going to resend back on to where it blows out and away from tire. Instead welded on a silencer and did an wrap. On I get the expansion chamber benefit and no oily gas exhaust on my tire.

If your saying is it louder than stock exhaust without baffle cap then yes. It’s much louder than that. About 5 inches away from exhaust I measured about 110dB which is enough to damage your ears if you were ever to put your ear up to the pipe. You can get a cheap muffler for this pipe though that makes it super quiet and does not slow performance.
