Holy hell, this is immensely informative. I wish this could be put into the game itself as a tutorial for everyone that owns the game. Reiza really needs to think about doing that.

Excellent!! Obviously you cannot do such a video for each and every car ... but every now and then a car setup from a different group of cars would be just mega. BTW, this setup works very well for Barcelona too. Cheers.

Keep up these setup vids man it helps alot and even more that you have in depth knowledge of the physics as you have worked on them for reiza 🔥

Wow it's been a while since you posted a setup video! I did notice a huge improvement on the default setups on the cars since you joined the Reiza team. Glad to see you uploading again!

Thanks! The defaults are more internally collaborative now. My focus lately has shifted to tires and making sure the suspensions as an entire package suit the cars. The adaptability of the cars to the particular needs of the driver using the setup screen are more apparent than ever.

Another awesome set up video. About 9 months ago I bought AMS2 and someone told me about your first set up video. I have a full pad of notes on how/what to do from that video and just added some fine tuning to those notes. Thanks man, these videos are great and super helpful.

Thanks Adam. Yeah, once you get a grasp of what the car is doing, particularly the circumstances where the issue is popping up, you can align the appropriate tools to solve those issues and basically whittle it down. It takes some time and effort, but its better in the long run. When racing I like to forget about the car so I can focus on the race, braking points, racing lines etc.

Hi @Steelcast27. I must work now so I'll finish this view later. But from the first ~20 min I watched, I must say this is really good content. As an AMS2 enthusiast myself I appreciate a lot what people like you (oez also comes into my mind) do for the sim. Did not know about the discord, I am joining right now!

Those telemetry readouts should just show the average over 300 milliseconds. It's impossible to gauge what all those flickering numbers mean.

Hey steel, nice video and I understand the logic behind pretty much everything other than the temp difference inside to outside, why would you not want it to be even across the whole tyre in an ideal situation?
@Steelcast27
@Steelcast27 10 ай бұрын
Cambering the tire prevents "rollover" (where the outside part of the tire rolls onto its shoulder and the inside tire lifts while cornering). It makes sure the load is spread evenly across the contact patch IMO when cornering. That's when it matters. At all other times the inside part of the tire will be experiencing the most load, so naturally, since the inside part of the tire is experiencing load at all times, the inside part of the tire should have more heat. If you finish a few laps on track and the temps are even across, and the tires are cambered, its an indication that the outside part of the tire is doing more work and generating more heat compared to the inside *while cornering*.

Excellent setup adjustment run down! The interesting thing i found is you are using a custom ffb profile. Not a fan of the defaults? Also What wheel are you using?
@Steelcast27
@Steelcast27 10 ай бұрын
Thanks! The choice to use a customs is based on what I like and I have gotten used to. I like/need to feel certain things and minimize other things that cause noise on my T300. Simple as that. Im not a FFB connoisseur either.

Hey man very informative video 👌🏼 but can you update all your videos I’m really struggling with the 1974 rsr Porsche also the fact that the physics has been updated and things look different to your settings in that vid about the rsr

@@Steelcast27 understandable… low speed corners loss of traction back likes to step out or is it the nature of that car?
@Steelcast27
@Steelcast27 10 ай бұрын
It is, short wheelbase and rearward weight. The RSR has a low polar moment of inertia, meaning it turns on a dime. Which can be off-putting. A lot of experienced drivers like the sensation, and expect it. There are some things you can do to mitigate it though. Its a good idea for the next video.

question mate, ive recently started using RST telemetry to dial in my setups especially for longer races where tyre west is an issue. I notice here your adjusting fully by feel, without using telemetry. Is this the norm for you? im assuming you’d tweak so it feels good then look at telemetry to get a finer balance? Just trying to work out what’s the quickest/best way to go about this.

Is this an older version of the game? The setup screen gives suspension values in actual units (like in pcars2/early AMS2) rather than 1,2,3,4 I always used to like knowing how stiff a cars springs actually were
