A quick overview of a Berthier carbine stock purchased from Apex and whether it lives up to the rating of fair condition.

Thanks much! Fortunately the grime wasn’t very stubborn so it cleaned up pretty nicely.

Hobo i saw the Casual Collector stocks and they were in really BAD shape. Your stock there is great i could make that one look new.. almost. THANKS for showing !!

Thanks for watching! Yeah his stocks would take a fair amount of skill to make worthwhile again, it’s really too bad. With this one, I’m surprised how easily it cleaned up and you’re quite right, there’s definitely potential there to get it close to perfect.

I got a Polish Mauser stock from Apex. The price was amazing and I’ve never seen them for sale in bulk from a retailer (only for obscenely high priced auctions). I was extremely happy with it after cleaning.

Yeah it really pays to keep an eye on that site if one has project guns. It’s the same for these Berthier stocks. They very rarely show up in auctions, even rarer still in worthwhile condition so it’s really awesome they somehow got multiple in from somewhere in serviceable shape and for less than 100 usd!

This is more like it. Dirt, dents, repairs are one thing but those 52 stocks were questionable at best. Especially for the price. Those for showing us.

I saw the video on the 52 stocks just as this one was in transit so definitely made me a bit nervous. Nice to get a win every once in a while I suppose.
