Bofa Boy You’re semi-correct. Though he was involved with a 13 year old, he was not the one bringing nor receiving sexual favors; There was another dude getting head from the girl as 6ix9ine was dry-humping (yes; he had clothes on during that) from behind her. She was also nude during all that. *NOTE: Citation is, indeed, needed; Will update this comment whenever possible (especially if I can remember ever making this comment in the near-future).*

Genius is actually great. I don't see how it can't be, many lines and songs have objective meanings that need to be annotated in my opinion. It's not perfect, as the only way it could be would be if the artists themselves annotated every last line of every song they've ever made, but it's a pretty great platform to understand hidden concepts in the music you listen to everyday. Of course there's the occasional awful annotations, but that's why there's a system to fix those annotations through upvotes and downvotes. It's a great website, no argument needed but I still wanted to provide one

Hipthony Hoptano Well you should read some Derrida but I agree that some shit like “what does the rapper mean when he yells ‘louis gucci ‘sace molly’” because you can just be like “these are the names of brands and then a drug. But that’s because mainstream rap is tits. As a counter, try arguing any death grips line has one single objective meaning

Matthew Frazier There are a lot of erroneous interpretations of lyrics on genius and as Anthony noted rabid fans have a tendency to exaggerate the allegorical significance present in the songs written by their favorite artists. Conversely, when the explanations for the lyrics actually make sense, it’s nice not be scratching your head the next time you listen to them. Also it’s really cool when the genius articles come with citations from the artist so you know it’s legit.

my thing about genius is that on any line you click, it will give a box in big font to edit it, a section below the line to suggest improvement, and a comment section at the very end of the lyrics, so to me it seems like its encouraging users to input and compare their own interpretations, rather than just using the ones they find on the site

About the leaks... I think it depends what kind of leak we talk about, because yeah, it's kinda "bad" if it's a soon-to-be released song, but there are too demos, B-Sides wich never get to be released. And these songs, if not listened leaked, there's no way to hear them. Also these leaks may show you some kind of artistic vision not controlled by the music label (and that's why maybe the song doesn't get to be released). As an example I can say that The Veronicas have a lot of leaked songs (like... a lot); and some of their demos/leakes are way better than some of the songs of their last records... and it is known that Sony (and also Warner back in the day) tent to "control" their released make them wait releases...
