Fastest PEBBLE SHOWER PAN I've Ever Tiled --- Tile Redi with Linear Drain

Most pebble or mosaic tile installations are done by installing full pieces or sheets and then cutting in or piecing in the perimeter pieces. Since the Tile Redi shower pan is already square the installer can just take measurements and pre-cut all of the sheets before installing. This way the installation can be done faster as long as the precut pieces are numbered properly so that they can be installed in the correct place. Doing it this was speeds up the installation time by about 50%.
Tile Redi pans are already waterproof, pre- sloped, and there are no connections to be made between the shower floor and wall. Also, the drain is integrated into the pan instead of installed separately. This reduces the failure points that are common with the Schluter, Hydro Block, and Wedi shower systems. Tile Redi foam is also approximately 7 times more dense than Schluter foam.

This is the bathroom job we hired Isaac and his crew to do for us. I was very, very happy with the entire experience - from the moment we met him at his store for the consultation through the job's completion. He and the crew were also great with the tenant (and the good boi who napped throughout the work). Most of all, you can see how fantastic the work is. I highly recommend Isaac and his team.

The large shower in our house failed. We purchased the custom-built house from the homeowner which was the custom builder. The tile installation looked almost perfect, but after the failure I found the shower liner cut in the corners with roofing nails into studs and nails in the curb! My background is electrical contracting, electrical and architectural engineering, not a tile guy. That being said, I redone the master bath myself because I didn't want problems where a contractor cut corners or was clueless, especially another shower fail disaster. I didn't want to attempt installing a typical shower pan with liner and have issues in the future, so I ordered a custom size Tile Redi shower pan with linear drain, a little expensive being a larger custom size but man, what a piece of mind! Have not installed the wall board or tile yet but installed the pan a couple weeks ago, that pan is very solid. The rest of the bath construction has gone perfect, little nervous about doing the tile but at least I know what will be behind the tile and I feel pretty good about everything, thanks to Isaac's videos.

Been following all your videos and nothing has failed! about to start my pebble tile today after testing my dry pack Hydroban sealed shower floor.....which passed with zero leaks! I'm a sheet metal worker doing his own plumbing (which I hate doing) but been in construction since the 90's so it's just another day at the "office". I just over think everything that isn't sheet metal, and worry about failure. Follow all of Issacs steps and techniques and you shouldn't go wrong... Everything has worked flawless so far.....now I jinxed it! LOL

A similar way to do what you did with layout, is to make a pan template! Rip 1/8" utility plywood into about 1" strips. Get a hot glue gun and create a template of the whole shower pan (including the drain). Then just take your template over to the tiles laid out on the floor. Trace the template and cut the lines :) What I like about doing it this way, is you can shift the template over the tiles, and find the most symmetrical layout, as well as the least amount of cuts/slivers.

It was your videos that lead me to tileredi. As a DIY'r using products on my own house, speed of installation and wrapping up projects in a few days is not a factor. The pebbles look cool, but that Redi system is 😲 I had to completely replace 90 percent of the joists and floor under my master bathroom due to the previous install leaking since the 50's (way before I bought the house) I've been sitting with an empty master bath for soooo long because I'm terrified of leaking tile systems destroying it again. One piece, and practically unbreakable... This Redi system looks like it's the way to go for me.

Isaac, I’ve been told that only epoxy thinset should be used for pebbles like these because the pebbles are held to the mesh by an epoxy type resin. The theory is that regular modified thinset wont bond to the resin as its designed to bond directly to stone or tile resulting in the pebbles loosening up over time. Mapai Keripoxy or Latacrete epoxy 300 have been recommended. What is your thought on this? What thinset would you recommend? Thanks. Love your channel.

so if you have a linear drain thats away from the side wall and also away from the ends like in your video and you make a one plane pitch from both parallel walls, will the little ends automatically drain? i know the main pitch will drain but concerned on the little ends of drain, draining away from wall. im doing a floor similiar but with a dry pack and a 2x4 inch sheet tile, like little picket tiles but on a mesh . its a concrete recessed shower floor, so the plumber already did the hole in slab and clients dont want to move it. my drain will be away from side wall like 12 inches and the width of line drain is 24 inches sitting in a 40 inch wide shower.. any thoughts?

I picked up a good tip years ago from my old employer for cutting river rocks. Place an old tile on top of the river rocks as close to the blade as possible leaving room for your pencil line to be seen. As you guide the river rocks through the blade keep pressure on the tile with one hand. This helps to minimize the rocks movement and helps to produce a straight cut. On a side note, does this guy ever wear eye protection when he makes cuts?
