Allo! Finally the last video of my Tank Guide series, GUNBREAKER! I always have had a sweet spot for this class, as I loved learning and studying it on it's release in Shadowbringers. Gunbreaker has SO MUCH versatility, it is almost insane how much you can change the rotation and openers for different fights. As a result, I decided to make this guide to key in on the fundamentals of the class. Once these are mastered, you can hop into any optimized rotation and opener with ease. I really hope you all enjoy, and happy raiding! See you all in 6.2!

Great video all around, the only piece of feedback I have is to try talking slightly slower for guides. Not SLOW slow, just a bit slower, to make the information easier to digest since most people will be watching this with that intention.

I finally reached level 60 (Paladin) and wanted to try out Gun Breaker. I am overwhelmed by all the different actions and combos. I died so many times in the “Hired Gunblades” quest ;-; I definitely have a lot to learn. Thank you for the guide!

WOW! I was actually looking to speak with Sausage Roll about how I can tank better as a GNB, then this video shows up! xD Watching this video only confirmed that I am already doing everything correctly, but just need to adjust my gear and Materia accordingly for the 2.40 cooldown or cooldown that works for me. You did an amazing job at putting this together! Thank you so much!

Thanks! Saus is the homie! As far as gearing goes this tier, slow speeds are good just cause of raw substats compared to faster builds. So 2.50 is pretty good. 9 GCD NM doesnt matter with that one. But you can play whatever youre comfortable with!

@@AMShowtime I'm assuming for the opener you still want to 1-2-3 No Mercy. And for every 2 minute window you just wanna go into it with 3 Cartridges, dump em all on Gnash first hit and Double Down, and then weave Bloodfest at some point here. Obviously the earlier the better but. I'm used to religiously hitting my bowshock and blasting zone with my Double Down so. I either have to change THAT and substitue one for Bloodfest, or hit bloodfest during Sonic Break or the other part of the Gnash Combo before it ends.

@@Aequilix pretty much! Yeah if anything just weave bloodfest after the sonic break, finish gf, and empty ammo again. Gonna be nice having that all under 2min now

@@AMShowtime Yeah honestly GNB being the weird one having BF on 90s made it a job I only really ever fucked with in EX content and not Savage but. I beat last tier with WAR and then started doing re-clears as DRK to learn that job and raid in 6.2 as DRK so--I think getting familiar with the 1 and 2 minute burst windows of DRK is gonna help me a lot in trying to play this class in savage. I might have to give it a spin this tier 👀

I’ve been playing gnb for over a year now but only got interested in doing high end contents after 6.1. My problems with gnb are as follows, figuring out the best time to use mitigations during gnashing fang combo, missing the timing of the 2nd bloodfest under no mercy, and over capping aurora/cartridge/rough divide when dodging mechanics while keeping uptime. Thank you for making this guide.

at first would feel daunting. but after practice a lot of times GNB combo is easy to remember. not easier than warrior of course. dont forget to have fun!

It's okay! As explained in the video, gnb is extremely versatile! So people like Rin are always finding new innovative ways to gunbreaker. That's probably the best thing about this class

Little titbits here and there that run of the mill guides sometimes miss. These details are important. Cooldown combinations, managing drift and slingshotting the boss with gap closer from snap shotting your position. I understand guides of this quality must take time to make, but don't think your efforts goes unappreciated!

I playing gunbreaker and had been my main. I was a warrior till 50-60 then switch to gunbreaker. Like I like the 2 combo for the heals cause in low dungeons you don’t get your self heals and with warrior you need to do 3 combos

i like use Camo (for pull enemy) and heart of corrundum( for TB), and then for triple or quartet TB usualy i go panic and OAO) pop SUPERBOLIDE instead nebula or Heart Corrundum i use Q & E for Continuation combo

I have a different opener but still dump all 9 gcds and put everything on cooldown. Just wondering why you don't blasting zone after first continuation?

For standard opener? I use bloodfest there after Jugular Rip to put it on cooldown and to prep Double Down as next GCD

@@nateboogiez9999 yes! Tankbusters happen frequently in high end stuff, so it's good to cycle between these sets. It's a good fundamental start especially if you don't know an encounter
