Thanks for the advice. Never thought about adding value to a piece of land. Not gonna lie, it is hard to even find an affordable land in the midwest, let alone with a house on it.

That is exactly right and what we are doing now. Just watching the market cool off now, monitoring land when it comes available. Taking our time to build up a homestead on raw land. Hoping to find something with a broken down old cabin or trailer already there. It's all about the land though.

Have you encountered any problems with cities when you slowly build houses. It is my understanding that most cities place "by when's" on building permits which might make it difficult to cash flow each step of the build.

Each build is typical a separate permit, but then again I do not pull a permit for everything.

The biggest concern is the taxing authority. I want to build on property my Dad bought in the late 60s. There’s a large house on the hill adjacent that the county has valued at over a million. This scares me more than anything. I can’t pay the taxes on a house like that. My build is under 2000 square feet, so I’m hoping I can afford the taxes in my old age. Something to consider.

The only way we can afford a large house as we age is to build a multi-generational home, which will be a big issue in the years ahead, or to build a rental on the property, which is also a big option, and one I have utilized in my own place.

@@HowToBuildYourOwnHome Absolutely. My boys will have to figure out who will move in with me when I’m 90. It’s not that far off. The house has room for my caretakers. 😜

Tks for that mate. Great advice. I have to build a concrete driveway. 130m long, 6” high & 2.5m wide. Would you get some workers with a concrete mixer and take days or maybe weeks to complete. Or would you bring in a concrete truck and finish the job in one day. Cost efectively, which would you pick? Pls advice.

Hi boos...nice video again.. what you think about price ut....you It word work on that area?? New homes..or rehab?? Thanks...i did one flip 2 years ago...sold fast... What are your thoughts thanks

Price has great sunsets, they last forever. That area of Utah is far out west from I 15, and may have a hard time selling if a flip. Land is cheep there. Depends on the bones of the building.
