I really appreciate all your videos! I'm planning a ranch with a house/barn and pastures and, though I'll have a general contractor, architect, and site developer, I want to learn as much as possible so I can work closely with them and make things go as smoothly as possible. Great work and love the videos!

Most of the time no. The setback is determined by the foundation of the home and not any part of the home that cantilevers out.

I built a new home in 1978 in Sequim WA. and it was kicked about 6" into the air space of the set back and had a neighbor on 10 acres outside the development concerned. At the time my wife was in real estate so we drew up some paperwork to satisfied everyone. It's just amazing what you can run into. Have a great day and take care.. Glenn

Were the stakes done by a surveyor or by yourself? I'm wondering if the stakes are something that can be put on by the owner themselves.

Surveyor. My build pad is so small I could not make any mistakes so in this situation I did hire a surveyor.
