Erin, you're right on the money in cutting the apples for Bruce, especially as fast as he was trying to chug them down. It only takes one time for them to choke. We used to feed our cows whole apples that fell off the trees in the yard. One of the steers was eating too fast and one got lodged in his esophagus. Apparently it moved past his airway because it looked like he could breathe. But there was several minutes where he was in a panic, swinging his head around trying to dislodge it. We called the vet but while we waited for the vet, the steer somehow got it dislodged. We were really freaked out and after that, we used an old knife to chop those apples in half before setting them in front of a cow.

I like Bungalow Alehouse in Woodbridge. If you are ever down in Fredericksburg, then Capital Alehouse, Cheddar’s or BJ’s Brewhouse are really good and kid friendly. If you like Korean, just about any place in Annandale is great. There is not a lack of restaurants in NOVA.

Growing up, my mom was always a horrible cook, especially when it came to Thanksgiving. Now that I'm all grown up with a family of my own, I refuse to put my family through the same kind of trama that I had to go through, so for Thanksgiving, I take my family out for Chinese food. Everybody is happy. P.S. As a result of my mom's horrible cooking, in order to survive growing up, I've learned to be an excellent cook.

Nothing I buy out is better than I can make myself, from my grandmother and mom, but lazy and in hot summer, hate hearing house and making heat pump run nonstop. I use Dukes mayo, Land O Lakes butter, sweet onions, powdered Carolina Reaper, thin sliced Sunbeam bread, bacon, eggs, gravy, grits, every veggie except brussel sprouts, tomato sandwiches with Dukes mayo and tomato must be peeled, best toasted, and also like coleslaw with onions pepper carrots Dukes red wine vinegar and of course cabbage. I always eat cob on the side. Soup made with leftovers. Love all meat. Dad always kept deep freezer for meat. Always worked hard, until 1984. Took job in fiberoptic plant operating machines until 87, went outside to load finished cables onto flatbeds, did that until 2018. Now, have ulcerative colitis, and 3 ulcers in stomach, both from Meloxicam. Arthritis pain control for 6 years, almost died. High cholesterol, high blood, diabetes, taking 2 insulin 4 times a day. Taking vicoden every day since stopped Meloxicam in 1996 for pain mgmt. Victoza injection, and 3 other drugs. My problems stem from motorcycle wrecks, spine damage on construction site (1977) sedentary, eating foods above and d**n drugs. Also have lung damage from cigarettes and pot and pneumonia. Stopped smoking both in 85. Pneumonia hit 2/2019. Said all that to reiterate how your family gives me what I need and more! Thank you so very much for sharing your sweet family with KZfaq. I'm retired, on fixed income w big med Bill's, 3 children, 5 grandkids, so can't help support you monetarily, but I am subscribed 4 life to both your channels and if I live I will definitely follow your kids. Now that I typed all this, I promise not to do it again!❤

One of my favorite meats is beef tongue! When my kids were toddlers and I first introduced them to solid food and meat, that was one of our favorites because it does not have the "strings" that beef has and so is safe for them to eat without choking. My middle son, true to his nature, insisted, "Yuk. I don't want it!" So I told him, "Fine. Your brother and I will eat the beef tongue; you can have hash." Of course it was beef tongue hash. I had to do the same thing with fish. "Your brother and I will eat the fish; you can have Red Snapper." Poor kid. It must be rough having a mother who can outthink you.
