I love this band. Discovered them a few weeks ago and bought up all their digital stuff. I'm not even a hard rock or metal fan, more of an indie, soft rock type of guy. These gals won me after my first listen to Daydreaming (one of their softer, not-so-popular (I think) songs), where the talent displayed was astonishing. And exploring their catalog has just been fun as hell: it's amazingly large and diverse for so young-ish a band. Easily became my favorite currently-active band.

5 ladies......with 80+ songs. They are the real deal and a true organically formed/grown band. (Not a Japanese idol band/ label made). They specifically write all their music with the live performance in mind. I truelly hope you enjoy your Band-Maid expirience as much as I did mine. They are my favourite Rock band today.

Yep, every new fan of Band-Maid has the same reaction. I had just run across the girls a couple days prior, watched every last official video on their channel multiple times, made my first iTunes purchase EVER (and first money spent on new music in DECADES) when I called up a friend of mine who had played guitar professionally in Japan back in the 90s. "Dude, I just found THE MOST AMAZING Japanese band! and they're all girls! and all dressed up li...." "Oh, you found Band-Maid, here, let me send you a link" ONSET. I swore I had no idea it could get any more amazing than what I had already listened to. But I got to one up on him, He didn't know they were doing a show only a few weeks later not 30 miles from where we each lived. We both had to spend 200 bucks to get in. But it was SO worth it.

I am at home in lockdown and I enjoy telling my musical experiences, I am an old musician, in the last 2 years I have discovered these crazy Band Maid, casually invited by a friend to a small concert in a small theater, and I have seen them magic, I had the hair straight from the first to the last song of these little girls, I was less than a meter from Saiki and I heard her natural voice that is not very extensive but she knows how to remedy with small grunts sighs and guttural sounds is a live goddess, her voice is completely natural without any setting, and has an incredible natural intonation, an absolute stage presence, as if she had been there for 20 years, Akane live is the hammer of god, her arrangements are worthy of the greatest drummers, he knows how to make impossible passages, and he lets himself go often in short and unexpected powerful solos, Miza with the bass I think she can do anything and play with anyone, I really mean anyone, in any kind of music, an absolute rhythmic cleaning, moreover the maid bands in concert are set on the bass and you can vibrate with Miza for the whole concert. Miku is perfect for choruses with Saiki, there are acoustic pieces where you can discover them as Thrill acoustic, Miku can follow rhythms in the tempo compared to Kanami, which give magic to their songs, sometimes Miku performs small unexpected guitar solos of extraction very Jaz. Kanami knows how to transform her guitar into a transmitter of emotions, and believe me she can do those impossible things at light speeds that many love but are soulless, but when she rarely does, she keeps her soul in music. During the concert, they make nice interruptions and joke with each other and the audience, they often caress each other's hair while they play during the songs or they all run to Akane's report to agree in crazy improvisations. I repeat I was one meter away from them, and they were happy sweaty and powerful, they have more fun than the public at concerts this is their power, you realize it when the concert begins until halfway through the first piece they are serious and concentrated then they all begin to smile and jump from all sides. If you can run to see them, walk swimming by bicycle as you can, and you will find those lost emotions that you felt at the concerts of the super band of the 70s and 80s, today the best world band in concert in my opinion. Fantastic aren't they? Akane Hirosi is one of the best rock drummers around and unbeatable in combination with MISA! On the Japanese scene you might also want to check out Lovebites, an all-female Powermetal band. Be prepared to be equally gobsmacked, they are truly special. The Crusade is my current favourite but any random click will be fine, they don't have a bad song.

I’m a 66 year old metal/rock head discovered them about a year ago, they have no bad songs/sets you have at least 75 songs to go, try Play, Moratorium, Puzzle ,Take Me Higher( great call & response bass & guitar). Akane (the drummer) was approached by Jimmy Page who wanted to have a photo with her out of respect. Tony Visconti approached the band and asked to produce one of their songs. It was "The Dragon Cries" and it's on their last album. It is one of their two english songs. Check out the video. It has a blues feel. They incorporate many different rock elements from Metallica to Motorhead to the Ramones. And yeah, where have you been Rocky?

Watching the thumbnail, I was expecting a brutal and rustic barbarian (no offense) smashing his monitor when getting excited but I found the most polite and refined gentleman showing so much love. Cannot not subscribe.

I'm glad your blown away, but you never pause in the middle of a Kannami guitar solo or an Akanne drum solo.

Charming ,funny , brilliant , imaginative , resourceful also to me describes Band Maid. What comes to mind for me is when Kanami had an equipment failure ,and she just worked right through the issue while the band covered . Most people would crumble under that pressure. Being into metal myself I found it fascinating to be consumed by this bunch off the wall dory females playing insanely great music for everyone. The ladies are truly a world away from us but connected by the joy of music they create. Great reaction/review. Subscribed.

I just watched the entire Blu-Ray of this concert. I can say that it almost brought me to tears experiencing the level of excellence that was in that show. It's been mentioned already that this was the second to last song of the 2-hour & 21 song set. It was mind blowing! Worth every penny I spent on it!

You just put into words exactly what the gap is. Before you heard these women perform for the first time and even subconsciously you formed opinions about them based solely on their appearance. Don't trip. We all did. And then you heard them and the cognitive dissonance happens. WTF? How the hell are these ladies producing that incredible sound. And it went so far with some that they would swear there was no way they were even playing their instruments. There is a very profound lesson there l would think. A person can be on autopilot and just tap their toes to the hook laden catchy tunes. Or one might dig just a little deeper and learn some valuable life lessons. The fact that Band-Maid can fully operate on any level is another testimony to the genius of an 810 year old pigeon.
