This is day 2 of my fishing trip to Melbourne Florida. We are on a mission to try and catch a large permit from the beach. We get into an awesome bite with multiple species of fish! There are few good nuggets of information in this video that should be helpful to your future surf fishing trips!

I live over here in Mobile and I've been watching your videos for some pointers on beach fishing. The only beach we have over here is on Dauphin Island. The water is not as clear as Orange Beach, so I'm hoping to have good luck. Thinking about coming over there to fish though. Maybe I'll see you out there.

You should hit up Flagler Beach on the Florida east coast. Me and two other guys fish it regularly and we always kill the Whiting and Pomp.. One day the three of us got 68 Whiting.. Was a good day LOL

Hi great video I am in the UK have order some squid & shrimp fish bites will let you know how I get on using them in the north sea PS the weights with wire are called Gripper's leads we have big tide runs we also bend the wire further back they hold much better

Tyler Burt permit have longer dorsal and anal fins and more silver in color and pompano is white - yellowish

Find a sand bar that creates a trough between the beach and the bar find a spot where it opens to the outer Sea. Fish pieces of fresh shrimp. Not frozen. Fresh makes a world of difference..

zachattack1479 when I was a younger man i only cared about numbers the most fish caught the most ducks killed etc. now I try to sit back and enjoy things more. if I catch a lot of fish great! so true....Joe.....I enjoy the entire experience.....I know how to fish the surf, I know the game...but that doesn't mean I don't get skunked on many days...so what.....still great to be on the beach....I prefer surf fishing to boat fishing...love the gear, casting....talking to the guys that are serious fishermen....a lot of fun...….
