This video shows how you can modify a bottom bracket adapter to allow a BBSHD / BBS02 / TOSEVEN DM01 & DMO2 to fit a Beach Cruiser or BMX frame. Thanks to Rarebird for doing the guest spot with this video. He builds some great bikes and can be found on Discord.

Can confirm this works a treat. I converted an Electra 7D cruiser with this adaptor. When I first opened it up, I was disappointed that it didn't fit, but after flattening out the lip on one side, it works perfectly. Interestingly, I didn't need to file anything down on the BBS02 for the BB adaptor to sit flush.. not sure if it's slightly different as I did this conversion in 2022? I would recommend beach cruiser conversions if anyone is thinking about it. They are so comfy and work fantastic.

@@HighVoltageKits Possibly. For anyone interested, I have been using the TruVativ American to Euro BMX Bottom Bracket Adapter... EDIT: just checked your link in the description, it's the same one. Not that it matters, anyone doing the conversion will at least know what to look for thanks to this video.

Thanks again for posting a very informative video. I recently missed an opportunity to buy a gently used SIKK UFO 7 speed locally (my time was consumed with a terminally ill great dane) which is manufactured in the USA and I suspect would have required an adapter to mount a BBSHD. I still plan to purchase a SIKK UFO 7 speed for a High Voltage BBSHD conversion once I recover from the extreme financial hit of my dog's vet bills.

I've tried that conversion before with a bbs02b on a old 80's Schwinn and warped the bbs02b casing and spindle. It's a definite "you millage may varry".

Yikes. Something to watch out for. I think I'd take the bbshd or the dm01 myself.

Absolutely 💯 I saw lots with just coasters on them. The one Mr Bird did that was featured has them for sure!

@@ChrisBFerguson Are coaster brakes even possible on an e-bike (other than front hub drives)? Mid drives freewheel up front so there is no back pedaling & hubs usually go where the drum brake would. FYI "breaks" are bad on any bike. What you want are "brakes";)

@@MumfordJim Neat. I think they're limited to 500 watts (continuous) so a coaster brake would probably cut it, especially on a conversion intended for "cruising". I'd be afraid of coasters on anything powerful & fast. I was a teen in the 80s & still remember having to repack the brakes after just a couple of runs down a mountain. I imagine that a fast e-bike would cook the lubricant just as quickly.

Bbshds you can get all over. Aliexpress is likely the cheapest. Where are you located?
