Check out our kitchen fitting. We have been looking forward to this stage for so long! We have never bought a new kitchen before, only up-cycled, bought used or built our own, so this was such a nice treat!

To stop the edge chipping when cutting put masking tape on the surface and mark your line then cut, the tape stops small breakout. Kitchen looks good.

I attempted the tape idea several times. Chipped everytime. The only way I achieved a clean edge was with a router

I've installed our kitchen and utility from DIY kitchens. Very handy online support and the ability to have units dry-assembled if you need to dis-assemble and modify them.

We didn’t need that on this occasion but great option for access or if cutting around walls etc.

I've had 2 experiences with DIY. One for our kitchen and one for our utilty. Great experience. They were helpful with damaged parts too. Only thing that stumped me was the filler panel above the oven.. they sent it as 240mm when the gap was only 110mm. When cutting the broken edge it was just hideous. So we re ordered the filler panels and I routered channels into them and glued tile trim to make then look nice 💪a nice new router blade leaves a very clean edge btw!

11:35 Tim, next time lower the blade very slightly and cut backwards (from front to back) then carry on as normal. You’ll get a much sharper cut.

Love the videos and the way you work and enjoy together as a family is amazing. Kitchen looks great loving the colour too. For me its a bit of a shame that you have split your channels and the farm and family stuff. I think all the content works well intertwined together and nice to have it in chronological order also mixed in with all the family bits. Maybe just me but you could have still branded the farm and diy videos with the different graphics ( which look really nice for both channels) but kept it together on one channel.
@TheRestorationCouple
@TheRestorationCouple Жыл бұрын
I know what you mean but its down to You tube getting confused about where to show our videos and what audiences want to see them. They kept putting our farm videos in front of DIY viewers etc and obviously the overlap is smaller than the wider audience.

In the hope that others can learn from my mistake, I had left my DIY Kitchen and worktop in the garage for a few weeks before fitting and the oak worktop bowed with the moisture - not surprising in hindsight! Great kitchen tho, and I've almost forgotten how bad the installer was!

Looking good and another great vid. You might find you get a cleaner cut if you turn the piece upside down, it normally stops the edge chipping.
