Having watched your videos for approx 3 years, your attention to detail and your willingness to take a chance is legendry It comes as no surprise that all the fiddly bits are coming good. Looking forward to the next one. (Excited). Later 👍

I love your video's, you are doing what I always wanted to do, buy a house needing a lot of renovation, but unlike your wife, mine doesnt like the mess involved and certainly wouldnt get involved in the actual renovations, I was a few years ago a professional kitchen fitter, and have fitted numerous solid wood worktops and was very impressed with your installation, a couple of points I hope you dont mind me raising, your cutting of the grooves for the worktop bolts, although excellent and adequate, can be done easier with a worktop jig, however if you are only using it for one kitchen it is hardly worth the cost, we always found those ceramic one and a half bowl sinks difficult to locate and cut as not all of them come with a template, I didnt find the second video showing the final steps of installation, but wasso the following points may be irrelevant, , I was surprised that you oiled the top surface at the end of the first day, we always left that to the last as any dust from the final stages landingon afreshly oiled worktop is an absolute b*gger to get off, andwe never used woodglue at joints, we would use a matching colourfill, as wood expands and shrinks and if it is glued it restricts this movement, anddont forget the worktop above any appliance needs a heat reflective 'baffle' or the top tends to dry out faster, and as someone else has pointed out , the cut out s make excellent chopping boards, although they need a different oil, but yet again another excellent vidieo

When you've got your own biscuit jointer, it's suprising how many jobs you didn't know you would use it on . . .

You finally got a track-saw then, and a Festol one at that. I remember watching your video reviewing a budget one a few years ago and having many issues lol. With the amount of DIY you do you deserve one. I hope build continues to go well!

I bought the used festool the same week as the budget one I took back. Used it loads over the last few years and wish I bought it sooner!

I did my sisters worktop, having never done work tops before. No tracksaw at the time, straight edge and circular saw. Measure 25 times and nervously cut…. Managed it. Funnily enough she has just repealed them after 10 last weekend

Look up Peter Millard’s loose tennon Jig. He has them on offer at the moment for about £40. A lot cheaper than a domino. Or he sells plans to make your own. Worth a video maybe?

I was only with Peter the week before I did this and never crossed my mind to look at using the jig. I’m sure there will be other times though. 👍

I think if you mitred the corner you run the risk of it opening up at the 'thin end' due to differential expansion / contraction. Meanwhile, how do you find using different brands of track? Do you need to adjust the cams each time you change brands?

How have you found the expandable platform? Would you recommend it? I remember your first video you did with it but I wasn't too sure about it. Can you remind us what it's called. Great work again by the way!

It’s made by Bora. It’s expensive for what it is but so useful to have a full sheet size worktop to cut sheets on.

Great job Tim, never easy with large pieces of timber. You can’t afford to make mistakes with them either, they’re far too expensive these days. I think I prefer your videos without the music…sorry 🥴
