Today I am using one can of store bought biscuit dough 2 ways. I am making stove top biscuits and donuts. Both are tasty treats. The stove top biscuits seems to be trending on Tiktok so I decided to give you details so that you can achieve crispy golden brown exterior and evenly cooked center.
Welcome to Simply Mamá Cooks KZfaq Channel! I am a Mom to a blended Korean / Mexican American family that loves to share what I cook in my home. I am still learning and enjoy the process of making home cooked food.

My great granma taught me how fry biscuits when I was eleven yo ( I'm not 74 yo), but with her scratch biscuits ! I do make scratch biscuits occasionally but I fry canned biscuits . When we started camping when our children were toddlers , we had delicious biscuits ...fried & we had gravy , too. You can put a lid on the skillet also , helps them cook inside ...and as you say , low & slow ...lid or not !! Savory or sweet , they're delicious!! I so enjoy your recipes & videos...also hearing you talk , your voice is very soothing . Thank you 🤗🌻🐝💞🙏

The biscuits in an iron skillet reminded me of my late uncle's "cowboy biscuits," he'd make flour tortilla dough and cut them into biscuits and cook them in an iron skillet. It was camping food, but he'd make them at home too for a treat with butter and jam.

Every oven and stove cooks differently, so some biscuits will cook for 20 mins while others may cook for less... So can't say 20 mins for biscuits is unacceptable for this reason.

I made some of these donuts a few weeks back. After mixing a vanilla glaze and a chocolate glaze I thought man I need something else. I spotted a can of Ovaltine sitting on the counter and put some in a gallon ziploc bag and put the donuts and the holes in it and shook em around. Omg y’all! Somebody try it. My sister used to make the donuts back in 1972. She would glaze with a little cake frosting.. Her version of a Saturday breakfast treat. My friends mother would fry chicken, then added the biscuits to the same grease. These are still my favorite biscuits for fried chicken meal. Your fried biscuits looked yummy....adding the apple butter or syrup during the last minute or so..mmm mom good.

My mother used her sewing thimble to make donut holes. The canned biscuits were much smaller as Grands weren't around yet. At least we never knew about them in the '50s. This was a rare treat. Our usual treat was oleo (not butter) spread on a slice of bread with sugar sprinkled on top. We felt blessed!

I actually invited a couple over for dinner and I made my first pizza for dinner and it was a special night to remember. Later on I thought this was a crazy thing to do! What if it hadn’t turned out? I don't have a video of it but I always make biscuits in a cast-iron skillet on the stovetop. My skillet is well seasoned and I don't add anything to it. I put the biscuits in the COLD skillet then turn on low heat, about 2 on my cooktop. I use the small cans of biscuits (5 per can) space them around the dry skillet (10" dia.) And put a lid on but, I offset the lid to let the steam escape so they won't be soggy. When one side is golden I turn them over very gently with a fork & tongs so they don't "fall". They come out crispy on the outside and tender and fluffy on the inside. BTW, I love your videos. Thanks for sharing your talent!
