I'm a white man that happens to be latino. Latin American culture, is that a culture not a Race. I grew up eating my abuelita's tamales, arroz con leche y café en el desayuno. She used to put on me vicks vaporub when I was cold, but only on my chest and nose. She also used to say "Camarón que se duerme se lo lleva la corriente" that means: "If you snooze you loose" Cheer up a Joanna you're great!

You're right, I think Joanna kind of mistranslated the saying, but currents can also happen at sea. I looked it up in the dictionary anyway and it seems that both, "corriente" and "current", refer to the continuous movement of a fluid, like air or water, in a specific direction. Vic on the feet is actually a really common thing. My family does it and every else I know, when the conversation came up for me to ask, does it too. Maybe it's a Midwest thing though, or a Heartland thing, or whatever Kansas is supposed be a part of. Kansas is just weird, but I love it
