Thank you for taking the time to show all the steps. The end results were excellent. I still use a straightening comb I put on a gas stove (open flame) and African Pride hair grease. I have short hair but the pressing method is amazing.

I went to a hair clinic for years that specialized in growing hair. They only pressed the hair. They used no chemicals in the hair. The owner recommended using more than one electric pressing comb when doing the hair at home. I would use three at a time and it allowed me to have consistent heat and get done quicker than using one. I eventually wanted to do different things with my hair. So I stopped going. However, I can testify that my hair was in the best condition ever and went from being just shoulder length to down my back. I have have a great appreciation for my current stylist but I am ready to return to the salon that helped my hair achieve outstanding results.

How often did you get your hair straightened at that clinic?
@fortunate1forever670
@fortunate1forever670 2 жыл бұрын
@@cfoster6804 , I started out having it done bi-weekly but then switched to weekly (which was discounted). The owner of the business died years ago. He had a knowledge of hair care that is still unmatched by anyone that I have watched on social media or have experienced personally. He understood hair and treated it like a health care specialist does the human body. He maintained a file on each client’s hair and took care of it based on the condition and results desired (grow hair down your back). I had regular hair treatments and there was no extra charge for them. It was just a part of the regular service. My girlfriend who referred me always had long hair…bra length. Her hair grew to her waist. I finished my appointment ahead of her one day. I passed by the room where she was having her hair pressed. It was a delight watching the hair presser do her hair.

@@fortunate1forever670 oh you had a great old school hair care specialist/hairdresser! Back in the 1980s , my cousin used to keep a book on her clients. She also would teach her clients about their hair. I was in school back then and I used to help her in her shop. As you said, like a doctor, she would write notes about each visit. She would also give her clients homework to do to take care of their hair at home between salon visits.

I've been natural and cut my hair bald. Its going on 4 years and I've been pressing my natural hair. I don't use a flat iron at all. My hair is bra stap length now and very healthy. I do everything old school including greasing my scalp with old school grease. I only press my hair maybe 4 times a year without blow drying it first. I let it air dry its healthier.

Real pretty finish. I'm surprised you got that type of result using an Electric pressing comb. I'm truly old school as I have been using the hot comb you put in the FIRE on THE STOVE. Been using this comb since I was a kid over 20+yrs. lol. Might try the electric one as it might be good to have for traveling. Overall, I really liked the way your hair looks. Oh yea, what hair color is that in your hair it is sooooo pretty as well as you. Thanks for sharing your method.

Flat Irons are an investment for your hair. Try not to purchase cheap flat irons because you want to take care of your hair. .Suggestions for excellent flatirons, get one with titanium Babybliss, H2Pro, or FHI flat iron. The FHI is sensitive and will likely break if you drop it. These irons range from $90- 120 but it's well worth the investment. God job on the video young sista!

I really thought that this would be an actual hot comb from the stove method. The only thing that I can think of is your hair type determines if you can use a hot comb or a flat iron. I remember the hot comb as a kid and I had hair down my back. But it seems that the flat iron dries my hair so bad no matter how much oil or grease I use.
