This was a customer repair that came into the shop, and so it seemed worth documenting. Board was water damaged, and in need of repair. After the customer communicated with Tony at Floatwheel, a set of replacement parts were sent directly to the shop, and the repair was performed.

It's eerie how closely the dialogue echo's my teardown and almost repair of a 4208 this past weekend. Those old connectors for the footpad break so easily. . . and the fun of putting something back together that the client has pried apart. . . lots of words . . . Love these videos, learn so much. 'Oh that's niiiice'

Friendly tip. It is much easier to leave the motor in place and remove the rails one at a time first. It gives you a little more room to deal with the cables without getting pinched.

It's a bummer that waterproofing is non existent. Looks like a great board (especially price compared to GTS). It's pretty fun to ride in rain and through puddles. Pint and PintX can be ridden basically like submarines, fully submerged with no issues (so far).

my board no longer turns on but still displays the battery level when plugged in. how do i fix the power button?

@theboardgarage Hey Mario. Is the silicone glue what you would recommend for sealing up your board? Or is there something else you would recommend? Also was there any specific areas you noticed that could really use sealing? Thank you.

That glue I use is a good gap filler as it dries fast and is more rigid than RTV silicone sealants. It’s much harder to remove though if you think you’ll need to in the future. So it’s not something you should use at the seal of a lid or anything that needs to be accessed or opened. As for where may need it, I have read mixed reports of it needing sealant everywhere there’s a opening (lids, lights, cables) or from some, just at the motor connector. I’m not really sure at the moment.

How do you believe the build quality compares to FM? Also, how do you think the quality of the electronics ( ESC , BMS, hub motor etc) compares to available vesc components like Funwheel, lil focr etc?

2:26 Did you buy them (the sensors), did they mean to send so many, or is it a case that they sent "one" but it was miscommunicated as one whole panel?

I did not buy the parts, they were in the packaging I received after the customer communicated with Tony.

So, did you do anything to waterproof it further in the future? or just return it to its leaky stock oversized gaskets with no silicone.

I did not. The job was to fix the board for as economical a means as possible.

bruh when Tony first started taking orders for this, he showed the FW completely submerged in water. The fact that it's not water proof or even water resistant makes the entire thing scammy AF to me. Customer probably spent more on the floatwheel + repair than what a stock GT costs. This is pathetic. (Not the service, the FW)

@@justjay1337Every time I ride my Floatwheel ADV and enjoy the power, torque, and range, I feel SO scammed! Damn you Tony for making a scammy board that's better than a GT-S for about half the price!! Buyer beware!! 😂

@@AmericanSmallArms I hope you don't get accidentally caught in a light rain one day 😂 let's be real bro, the FW is cool. Solid board & great performance. But showing it being dunked in a barrel of water is extremely misleading marketing. After what the customer paid to get it repaired, he could have probably gotten a GT or GTS with a warranty. The launch hasn't gone as smooth as the floatwheel fanboys like to act like it has. I've read about a ton of broken, DOA boards. Business wise, it doesn't make sense to make a V2 unless there was something wrong with the first one. The entire point is to build something once & build it right so you can scale the model. You guys are all beta testers & guinea pigs 😂🤣 Fwiw, I don't want Tony to fail. I want better competition. But people hate FM so much they act like being real about where floatwheel sucks somehow is sticking it to FM. It's not. You're just simping for someone else.

Did Tony send him all of this for user-induced water damage? You can't get this level of customer service anywhere. Just imagine FM saying sure bud, here's a new free motor and various other parts. We'll just charge labor. WTF?

As I was told, the customer was a ‘founders edition’ purchaser, which included replacement parts for a year. So whatever happens outside of that particular arrangement, I don’t have knowledge of.
