When you talked about your meet-up, I was so thrilled for ya'll! I feel like I'm so close, yet so far away ahahah darn this border! I love shopping in Snohomish (omg and I'm always stopping off at that pie shop!) and I have so many family stories about the Washington State Ferries (my sister and I even made up a song about them hahaha). Congrats on that beeeautiful hex finish! I loved your deer tour and I am in love with those awkward looking deer on your vintage sample. They look like a couple of friends with some big secrets!

We are just down the road (okay it's an Interstate but you know what I mean) from each other so if you are ever down for a visit let me know! (How fun would that be?!?) I could spend all day wandering that antique mall, there is so much stuff to see. To the point that it all starts to blur together after a while and then you know it's time to stop for a snack. Thanks to you and Kari for the adorable 3 Lil Hexes, they are too dang cute. And I am actually just a few clicks away from the deer sampler being charted and it is so awkward I love it ... now to model stitch in 2022.

It’s always a joy to spend time watching you. The fabric you showed is beautiful. Highest count I’ve stitched on so far is 40, maybe I can graduate to 46 count next time. Merry Christmas

Thank you so much! So 46 count is super small for me but I've used it for some tiny scissor-fob sized stitching and I use a magnifier so it works. I'm interested in trying some larger charts on it so we'll see how that goes. : )

Hi Jody! I love all your forays into all things vintage! Whether it’s vintage candy or vintage glass, etc. That house? Glass was very cool. In fact I had to stop the video and run to Goodwill as I have not been there for a few months. I need to find some more thrift stores to browse! So glad you had a wonderful time with your stitchy Friends! How lovely that you hosted them! Great that you got into StitchCon! Looking forward to hearing everything about it! I have not heard of stitch north. I will have to see what that is about. I would love to see your grandmother’s costume jewelry! Maybe on another episode? How fun! Your Joan Sands is beautiful! 😍 Oh, I finally got to see that your tattoo is a cat! Funny that you have dogs but you have a cat tattoo. Or maybe you have cats also. Thanks Padma! I completely forgot the photo of Underneath the Christmas Tree but it's actually in my first video and also somewhere buried on my IG account. I'll try to remember to add it next time. Houze Glass is oddly hard to find in thrift stores around here! The few pieces I have were found on eBay and were inexpensive (at the moment shipping costs are almost more than the item in some cases yikes). Stitch North is hosted by Caroline and Evertotes so hopefully the state of things will make travel outside the US possible, I'm REALLY hoping so. I had actually thought about sharing some of those costume jewelry pieces; she had a distinct style for sure and they are fun to see. I like your idea for storing rolled projects. I may have to try that. You are correct that you wouldn’t want to store them wrapped on wood or cardboard. I just confessed on my first Flosstube that I have a 42 year old WIP!! No that’s not a typo. lol The needle left with it rusted and has left a stain. Not that I’ll ever finish it at this point.

Hi Elizabeth! I love that chart, Christina of Whilst Iris Naps showed it on one of her floss tube episodes as a previous finish and I just love the letters. I only started stitching about 15 months ago so everything is new to me!

Thank you Jody for your awesome podcast…you are a very intelligent and interesting person…I appreciate all the information you share…when we visited my family in WVA, we use to go to the Rainbow Arts Company and there was a Milton Arts Glass Company within 1 1/2 hours up the Ohio River…both companies had beautiful exhibits of glass blowing…enjoyed taking three pages of notes of patterns, some I was not aware of…your deer basket and all the linen it held…your older sampler is amazing and look forward to seeing your reproduction of said sampler…hope you and yours have a great Holiday Season and the New Year is nice to everyone ❤️

Hi Loretta! Those visits to the glass exhibits sound amazing! In Seattle we have a number of glass artists and both Seattle and Tacoma have large Chihuly glass gardens and exhibits. It's so interesting to me to read about how companies got their start, what influenced the things they made, why the factories ended up where they did, etc. Happy Holidays to you and yes, fingers crossed for a Happy and Healthy New Year! : )

Thanks for your good wishes Jody…the Rainbow Glass Co. was set up by the Italians immigrates…they brought other apprentices over and had a thriving business…I will try to do some more research on the glass business in WV…it should be interesting…happy stitching❤️

Omg I had two of those tiny dishes for years and years on my wall at my old apartment! We moved in the summer and now I can't remember if they made the cut or went to Goodwill. I'll have to look!

Another fantastic video! I collect MCM glass and I have a pair of Christmas glasses made by Houze that I picked up at the Goodwill. I take them out every Christmas Eve.

Ooooo! What other MCM glass do you collect? I've seen some of the Houze drinking glasses for sale online but I haven't picked any up (yikes to the shipping costs at the moment).

Right there with you on the no hugging thing. One of my dearest friends hugged me when I last saw her and I was stunned. She recently lost her mom so I am chalking it up to the emotions of that. If it becomes a trend I will let you know!

Hi Denise! Yeah, I'm okay with a hug but maybe I'm just not great at it? Like should it be more of a side squeeze and where does your head go and how long should a hug last for the situation and and and ... I may not be a great hugger but I'm a Master Overthinker so there's that LOLOLOL Fortunately Laura is a great hugger so I didn't have to be awkward. : )

Hi Jodie, love your flosstubes. Can you explain how you attach your linen to your scrollbars? I noticed some sort of yellow plastic clips??

Hi Keryn, each of my scroll frames have a slightly different clip style depending on the manufacturer but if you are familiar with a Q-snap, they work in much the same manner. I'll try to remember to show them a bit more closely in my next video, I have gotten a lot of questions about scroll frames in general so it might be good to talk a bit about them. Thank you!

Thanks for another enjoyable vid. I'm sure I am one of many viewers who relishes the "reality" moments on flosstube...yeah, please don't edit out that sh*t. That chubby bird frame was quite a find, love it! And 'Hestera Harmer', what an eye-catcher for me. That's gotta be amazing all stitched up. I love the unoccupied space in the middle, gives the eyes a place to rest with just a few bees hummin around. Hope your holidays are great, (I concur with the limited consumerism mindset for Christmas) and looking forward to next time with Jody.

You were talking about glass, I live in west Virginia nearby the anchor hawking(words) it had burned and it took along time for it to go out, cause how hot glass can get

Hi Sheila! Tough job to put out a fire in a glass plant, I think molten glass is like 2500 degrees Fahrenheit so it's no joke. You don't want to run in and start spraying cold water everywhere (yikes) so I imagine it took them some time to get it under control. Interesting stuff! : )

I usually watch these on my TV, so I don't comment often. Today I'm at work and sneaking on my tablet and trying not to laugh so loud I draw attention to myself. I kept waiting for the music to stop and wondering why it was playing so long.. and then boom...💩 happened and the light fell down. Priceless. Thank you for a laugh and a smile on an otherwise not so great day. 😆💞
