Hi Bex! Thanks for the video! 😊 I usually rinse the items, let them dry under the direct sun for 48 hrs amd then bake them for 30min at 180°C. I tried using pine cones, but my gerbils didn't liek them 😅 Last year I got some cork, and this summer I'm planning to get some more from a forest I know 😉

Hey Marina :) ! Sounds like you've got a great process, and that sounds really cool about the cork ! We unfortunately don't have natural cork where I live :( . I would love to come across some, thats so amazing! Sometimes I put my pine cones in places where my gerbils don't want them, they are very specific about their living space and don't like new things blocking a tunnel, or sitting in their sand bath. I find Dusk likes them more than Jerry. After that they usually move them underground and nibble them like corn on the cob lol..

Personally I like to sanitize larger items like logs And stuff by roasting them in the oven at 250-275 for at least an hour

Hey could you make a video on safe plants and sprays (i dont know if thats what they are actually called😅)i would really love to grow some and have it on the go as treats and foreging (i cant spell🥲) objects,if you haven’t already?

I like your videos very much and got some good ideas from them. Just one note: Oaks contain an extremely high proportion of tannins and are therefore not suitable.
