Not sure I would trust modified spindles with welded on tabs. Is this kit DOT legal for street use, or offroad use only?

For the price of this kit u might as well do a 5 lug swap with the cobra brakes or with the brembo brakes off a Cadillac

1) We *wanted* to keep this Saleen's original four-lug wheels, 2) Buying new wheels, tires, and five-lug axles also adds cost.

@@Mustang-Geek Since its a Saleen i understand. My 5 lug swap cost about 1800 with new rims and tires. Ebay has some good deals out

why not weld the little bracket on while the bearings and seals are out.....so much cleaner for a system that cost 3200.00 +

Bolt on is reversible. Clamp is hidden anyway.

@@Mustang-Geek I can understand that as it's a Saleen. If it was a standard model though I wouldn't hesitate to weld it on.

I saw the nicks on the rear axles but that is extremely common on older vehicles, Why replace the axles? Did you not know that they make a repair kit that offsets where the bearings ride on the axle? It is not some cheap Chinese made kit sold on Amazon, Most bearing manufacturers offer them including Timken which is the best, I have been using them for over 30 years!

The nicks are where bits of the bearing surface on the axles had fatigued and broke away. Not good. I'm not a fan of "axle saver" bearings. If we're pulling the axles to replace the bearings, just replace the axles.

Good question. The front setup is because of the aluminum caliper and aluminum hat. The rear, definitely not! The rear rotor is beefy and all iron.
