How does this cater for people at the extremes? I have long legs but quite a short upper body so I wondered if it was effective off you were not in the bulk of the population.

These position analysis tools are not really a substitute for professional bike fit mainly because they are measuring one point in time; so my advice to anyone who has an unusual body type is to get a bike fit (eg from facebook.com/orbis.lab.sp/). Otherwise you could try shortening your legs :)

Good video and I'll definitely be checking out Motionysis. Do you have a link to the CycleApps: I want to change my crank length as that's something I'm looking at now too 👍

Hey man, could you do a video on bar width, I'm getting over whelmed with replying on GMBN, and I don't won't to tell people wrong. Body size compared to bar width is the question ,or maybe a better question is what is the best comfort and fit for body size compared to the bars, I've spent a lot of money on finding my length, my wingspan is 72 inches with a narrow chest, 755 is perfect for me. I'm telling people to go with what's is the best for them. Help me brother. Love your videos man, you are my go to for truth. Later. I meant control of the bike not comfort, I was watching your video and heard comfort and that is the reason I said comfort 😀. Later bro

We are working on a future video on road bar width, it's a little while off, but you are asking about MTB flat bars comfort and width? There are a lot of factors involved but if you are curious about leverage this calculator will help: fft.tips/cawbars

Hey It would be really great to get your input on the aero lab/chung analysis in the golden cheetah software in one of your next videos. Looking forward to it All the best Felix

Hello, where is the link for the FFT AERO DRAG vs POWER EFFICIENCY ?
@wazzup105
@wazzup105 5 жыл бұрын
Brilliant ! Have you ever done some sort of comparison of drag between short and taller people? I'm 189 cm with long arms and legs and a short torso (broad shouldered on top of that) and no matter how aero (horizontal) my upper body gets I feel I can never get down to the low drag that shorter people, especially those with shorter legs have. I wondered if my size and proportions is as much a drawback as my weight. (Ah, I think I found one: How height affects your cycling // aka why people height dope in zwift!)

@@Fastfitnesstips That would be awesome. I got 89 cm (doing the book between the legs against the wall thing) out of a total length of 188 (used to be 189, but hey 54 years is wearing me down ;-))
@Fastfitnesstips
@Fastfitnesstips 5 жыл бұрын
@@wazzup105 I am getting the follow results for a typical/mixed fit (general purpose)....an aero fit would be a little smaller. Frame size 61.3cm | wheelbase 1024m | top tube 60.5cm | frame stack 63.5 | frame reach 41.3 | saddle height appx 81.6cm | saddle setback appx 24.4cm | crank length apx 175mm | bar width appx 440. Does that help?

What if a position saves you 50w in aero but you loose 50w on your legs? Theoretically one would still travel at the same speed. Would that have lower metabolic costs and be advantageous for an IM bike leg for example? Or spare the rider in a stage race?
@Fastfitnesstips
@Fastfitnesstips 5 жыл бұрын
Interesting question! IMHO it would be better to adapt to an aero position and arrive fresher in terms of leg fatigue BUT how much are you really any fresher when riding in the new position because you might ride at your limit anyway. In reality you train both position and watts, when you have a better power curve (and FTP) it will feel easier to sustain the same watts as previously.
