I remember being 15 and watching Fright Night in the movie theater. I remember people screaming and interacting with the movie. Cool thing was there were tv monitors playing this clip in the theater lobby. Oh, the 80s... What a great decade to be a teen...

Fright Night was my favorite vampire movie. Lost Boys was great too but Fright Night was the best. Chris Sarandon played the best vampire in our generation.

Such an awesome song. Fright Night has to be the coolest film ever. So many happy memories of the 80s and watching horror from that time. So much fun and this song takes me back to that time. 🥰🥰🥰….do we even need to mention how handsome Chris Sarandon was was Jerry Dandgridge. I think it goes without saying. 😁😉👌🏻

I was only eleven years old when fright night movie was a success. I have so many good memories of this time, and for me, it was the best vampire movie ever.

I just couldn't make peace with The J Geils Band after they asked Peter Wolf to leave... he wanted to stay in the r&b influenced rock realm, and Justman (the band's chief songwriter) wanted to move into electro-pop... knowing that the others were blues purists in the beginning (and after the band broke up) I imagine they thought they were going for the money. Wolf was right, as proven by his immediately successful solo career versus the Band's quick crash and dissolution... they had spent a decade building a large audience who let them take blues and r&b and make rock out of it, and they lost them with the trendy techno-pop... that audience followed Wolf.

One of the few single's ever released by J Geils Band and not written by Seth Justman and or Peter Wolf. Of course, Peter was gone by "Fright Night" but Seth did a great job.

Their early singles ("First I Look at The Purse," etc) were covers of old Motown and blues and r&b songs that Justman and Wolf didn't write... lots of later ones, too ("I Do" from "Showtime")...

First LP had 7 written by others including 1 by J.Geils himself and a band composition under the name Juke Joint Jimmy. 2nd lp had 3 outside writers and 2 by the band under Juke Joint Jimmy. Full House had 5 with 2 band compositions under Juke Joint Jimmy. Full House also had the only Wolf/Geils composition called "Hard Drivin Man." Bloodshot had 2 outside writers songs. Ladies Invited had none--all Wolf/Justman. Nightmares LP had 1 outside writer song. The original sancturary LP put had no outside writers (later on in a reissue they added 2 songs by other writers). Love Stinks had one outside writers neither did Freeze Frame. Actually, Fright Night was a step back to using an outside writer as their earlier works featured more than later.

I came to the movie “Fright Night” by way of the J Geils Band who sang the title song “Fright Night.” Seth Justman, keyboards, sings lead on “Fright Night.” It’s the first song this ever happened in their 20 year career as former lead vocalist, Peter Wolf, had just left the band prior to “Fright.” Seth did fine but Peter had slightly stronger vocals which may have helped the song. Also, I was curious why the movie people did not have Seth write the title song to “Fright”. This seems odd since Seth had just written “Centerfold” a 1982 number 1 smash single for weeks! Go figure! Anyway, “Fright Night” is also a good soundtrack album with many 80’s stars singing on it. It can still be found on EBay and other online locales. It’s worth buying. Ian Hunter’s song on the “Fright Night” is great.

@@motionless_22 Well, that explains it all if you think this song is "pretty good"... Once they let lead singer Peter Wolf go, they eked out one terrible album & this wretched theme song. They never even toured again, (until the 1999 reunion with Wolf), & vanished into obscurity, while Wolf went on to have a successful solo career. Guitarist John Geils & harmonica player Magic Dick did hook back up as a tasty blues group called Bluestime in the mid 90s & released two albums, but even that didn't last.
