In this video we sit down and take a look at the differences between the RareBreed FRT-15 trigger and the Wide Open Enterprises WOT trigger.
Unfortunately I could not find the video I had seen of Lawrence Delmonico the president of Rare Breed Triggers, explaining about the lawsuit between Rare Breed Triggers and Big Daddy Unlimited. But you can find info on this and the lawsuit between Rare Breed and the ATF here on KZfaq. Thanks for watching. I've purchased 2 Rarebreed and 2 WOT. Both WOT were sent back because they were not within AR specs to fully function properly. The pin placement in the trigger is off just a fraction and the width of the trigger leaves room still inside my receiver after being tightened down. Both Rarebreed ran exactly as designed with no manufacturing error. Once you actually use them.... the rarebreed is better quality all day.

It could also be tolerance stacking. It could also be poor design.. Imo, that's no reason to be salty with the guy, we need to know ppl's experience. That way we can all make an educated decision. They aren't cheap, and we need unbiased accounts, lest we make the best purchase with the best product.

I got the wot. Loved it so much I bought 2 more for the stache and sold both my FAbfs3 and fostech echo ar2 . I only want rarebreed, wot and graves v2 now. I'm turned out all the way. When I do my builds, it's mandatory that I install nik bor bcg, drop in cmc 2lb 3 gun trigger( bare minimum)Rise armament, fostech,franklin armory bfs3 trigger, with at least a h2 or h3 buffer and flatwire springs. What most people don't understand is the sole purpose of building your own rifle is to make sure the best top tier parts are in the rifle for optimal performance and no ftf , light strikes or jamming up. I hate it when I read about a 80% build that's all mil spec or cheap mil spec parts. When you build, build with the best you can buy. If you don't want to do that just go buy a diamondback or psa and go shoot.

Question! Can I run a lightweight BCG with a WOT or FRT?
@equinoxtacticalsupply7732
@equinoxtacticalsupply7732 2 жыл бұрын
As long as the BCG has the full auto cut on the back it should make the locking bar release the trigger. However a light weight BCG is generally used to reduce the cycle time of the firearm. Less reciprocating mass, faster cycle time, less felt recoil, faster back on target, etc. So you most likely have to add the weight back into the system some how to slow it back down. The FRT-15 especially, does not like to run super fast. Either with heavier buffers or just get a standard full auto BCG.

People are saying this should have select fire capability. That would be nice. But I'm curious why that is necessary. Is it difficult to use this to fire a single round at a time? What's the issue with using this that way?
@monkeysfromvenus
@monkeysfromvenus 2 жыл бұрын
To fire a single round you've gotta immediately lift your finger off the trigger, which totally sucks for trying to make accurate shots of any kind. Turns out the gen 3 Rarebreed triggers that are coming out will have said capability, so that's super cool.
@adamr8628
@adamr8628 2 жыл бұрын
@@monkeysfromvenusok. You said you have to immediately lift your finger to avoid a 2nd shot. I understand this trigger is different than conventional. But if you pull it once, you get one shot, so if you hold it to the rear after the first shot, it doesn't fire again. I'm trying to understand why you couldn't hold it to the rear as long as you want to, and then release it and you would only have one shot fired?
@recoilrob324
@recoilrob324 2 жыл бұрын
@@adamr8628 The 'forced reset' deal means that you don't have to release the trigger pressure to reset the hammer for another strike...so holding back the trigger lets the bolt release the hammer with the 'locking bar' which is just about the same as the auto sear in an M-16. I think the ATF is going to confiscate these triggers (of both types) because they DO violate the 'one pull- one shot' rule of semi-auto even though mechanically they might look to be compliant. Whoever agreed to let them build these with an approval made a mistake....and everyone who bought one is going to pay the price I'm afraid. Here's a test for you guys with the FRT's: wrap a rubber band around the grip so it pulls the trigger. (I know....nobody will do this in real life...this is just a demonstration) On the FRT's if you load a mag and drop the bolt to chamber a round the gun will dump the mag all by itself...because the rubber band doesn't release the pressure just as you won't when using the trigger. ANY other semi-auto trigger on the market in ANY gun.....if you pull the trigger while dropping the bolt and chambering a round will NOT fire! You must release the pressure on the trigger to get the disconnector to reset. When I saw these triggers first released on the market I wondered how in the world they got them approved by BATF? Seems they've now had a change of mind and will be confiscating them. Not good for you or your dog. No sense poking the bear if you don't have to...right?
@adamr8628
@adamr8628 2 жыл бұрын
@@recoilrob324 Thanks for the detailed explanation. There is something else I was wondering that you hadn't really addressed, or maybe you did. You said that a rubber band attached to the grip will empty the magazine. Is the rubber band moving back and forth because of it's stretching? How is that different than a finger? And my main question is: Will holding your finger back allow the firearm to continue to fire? or do you have to move your finger back and forth with each shot?
@recoilrob324
@recoilrob324 2 жыл бұрын
@@adamr8628 I used the rubber band to simulate how the shooter will be pulling on the trigger just to eliminate the possibility of human interference. Yes when the gun is firing the trigger will be pushed slightly forward and the rubber band allows for this movement just like your finger will when shooting it. You just pull until it fires then maintain that amount of force and the trigger does the rest and dumps the mag. The 'Forced Reset' feature pushes the trigger forward a little which lets the hammer reset the trigger sear then the safety block (or auto sear if you will) holds it cocked until it's hit by the full auto carrier which then releases the hammer. Yes...if you hold the trigger back the FRT triggers will continue to fire (and fast!) until the magazine is empty.

So what will happen to the trigger if you dont use a full auto bolt?
@equinoxtacticalsupply7732
@equinoxtacticalsupply7732 2 жыл бұрын
You will not be able to pull the trigger. The locking bar does just that. It locks the trigger in the forward position until the portion of the full auto bolt carrier that would interact with the auto-sear in an M4, pushes the locking bar out of the way, allowing the trigger to be pulled. This happens when the bolt goes completely into battery. If you have a semi-auto cut BCG they are cut back further and will not interact with the locking bar. Therefore your trigger will not function. I show the difference between the two BCGs in the video.

@@howardwrentworth3359 LOL. now I wonder when Graves had originally filed for the patent as they are only good for 20 years if it was a utility patent. That is only with proper government upkeep and additional fees too.

@@equinoxtacticalsupply7732 I wonder myself. Now there is an issue in the case of the patent being licensed. It seems it's possible that rarebreed doesn't even own the patent. If memory serves me the first Starfire was about 20 years ago. Give or take. There is also another company with a patent on a forced reset trigger. The atf approved it. It doesn't work as well. Graves is coming out with a version 3. It's a mess. It's why from the beginning I doubted rare breeds claim. Glock comes to mind. A gen 3 can be cloned. A gen 5 can't. Same gun with a few differences.

@@equinoxtacticalsupply7732 I guess he is trying to say it’s a semi auto trigger and not a machine gun. That’s my guess on what he is trying to say
