Fuel System Inspection and First Start - Kubota G4200 Garden Tractor Restoration Part 16

This series is about repairing and restoring a garden tractor which happens to be a Kubota G4200 Garden Tractor. The tractor was abused, left outside and literally running on one cylinder when I got it (it only has two cylinders).
In this video:
I get the fuel system put back together, then do a 1st (and many more) start to get the cooling system back in operation.

Looking good. Thankyou again for the part number of those seat spring rubber caps. Ordered and I now have a pair, along with a pto drive belt tensioning puller, a new boss for the bottom pulleys to bolt to, plus a yoke that attaches to the main deck drive shaft, phew. About £238, around $350, ouch indeed lol. 👍👍👍👍🇬🇧🇺🇸

I just bought a g4200 with snow blade and 3 point hitch for cheap, dead battery so I haven't even tried messing with it yet, but I can already tell your videos are going to be a huge wealth of knowledge, thank you so much in advance!

Thanks...I've decided I don't want a deck but I do want to check it out to see if it's in salvagable shape. These things are WAY overbuilt so there is a good chance it would just fire up with a little bit of tinkering.

Sorry to ask on here, but I have a g4200. Could you snap a picture of how the regulator and alternator are wired up?

Keep up the great work! My g5200 waits for this level restoration. Your videos are both inspirational and educational!! I think my rear axle needs bearings. Did I miss any videos on that area by chance?

no, luckily the only "repairs" have been to the engine (water pump and loose injector line)

The majority of the wiring is under the dash which I can't really see...here is wiring parts list...not super clear but should help: www.messicks.com/ku/84932

If you watch "Cooling System Inspection and Install - Kubota G4200 Restoration Part 15" it shows how everything comes apart. I would take the four "bolts" out of the fan shroud and you should be able to lean it back enough to drop the belt in there. I'm assuming the belt can't be snaked in between the fan tip and the shroud. I changed the belt when I had the whole thing apart.

There is a bottom pulley I can't figure out how to get the belt around. @@BubbasWorkshop

This is the legit Kubota part but I would just buy whatever fits...I just measured the area in mine and got a 12v battery that fit in the spot. www.messicks.com/part/66021-55410/battery-nt60-s4
