I think the capacity for outward masculinity is more of what this scale is about. But higher masculine culture brings the potential for toxic masculinity but isn’t a direct one to one ya know what I mean? Also it could partially a perceived image of masculinity but also true in real practice. and even the differences between the types of masculine traits focused on in each culture has a different flare. Like Korean is a mixture of being cool, slick, passion for one true love, being ‘oppa’(similar to the Senpai idea- boyfriend is the protector and provider of girlfriend), expressing yourself and having a strong voice, to the point of being hard headed. I kinda see the upscale bad-boy trend where the standard is more clean-cut looking stylishness but also goes hard like heavy metal energy at times.😂 umm yea on his bad day I got a little like woa😬. Vs South East Asians being more physically tough and more flirty and outgoing. I only really know about Filipono guys’ sexual forwardness and flirtatiousness and dont know a lot of other South East Asians personally.

Hey, What about Indians ? They are not Asians ! Not even a mention not the Tik Toker nor by these folks. Indians don't come in their radar. So Asian means only slit eyed folks. Unfortunately a large number of Indians are of also of Mongolian race. Maybe because Indians have a strong conservative culture, no BF or GF culture. It is the parents who decide marriage so they are kind of disqualified from any consideration by the Tik Toker . Or maybe because Tik Tok is banned in India being a Chinese App 😊

Toxicity depends on the person themselves. Although for me, based on experience alone, the most toxic man I've dated was a Filipino. The most understanding and I would say the least toxic man I've dated is a Filipino as well. Just tells you can't label a whole race or ethnicity as toxic. It really depends on the person. Filipinos are big time escapists. They are master avoiders of problems but it's masked as "just being positive." I find Filipinos do not like to have deep or meaningful conversations. Problems are often swept under the rug and conflicts are almost never resolved. It's extremely toxic and one of the main reasons Filipinos are bad at relationships. That's why you see a lot of Filipinos marrying into other cultures.

Let's put this into perspective. I kind of agree with the #1, because in case you didn't know, in a survey of who are the most passionate people in the world not just in Asia, Filipinos rank #1. So if you think about it, the ranking does make sense. They're the most expressive among all Asians, and it's no surprise that the Vietnamese rank #2 because they're also high on the most passionate list. They're the ones who most likely don't care about your status in society but rather focus on love and passion, so toxicity might always come with it.

The main traits of Filipino men and that is why you need to stay away from them: ❤‍🔥 Smooth and suave - Yes! This is true. A lot of Filipinos are smooth talker. I think huge explanation of this is because Pre-colonial Filipino culture was women-centric and Feminists. Ancestors, unlike the Oriental counterpart, always put their wives on pedestal and always had high regard for women. Then came Spanish culture which promoted cariñoso or affectionate masculinity. So it's an innate quality. ❤‍🔥 We have a saying that Filipino men are "maginoo pero medyo bastos" - this means "gentleman but a bit naughty" - so women feel desirable but at the same time respected. The perfect kind of sexy. ❤‍🔥 Have a very good singing voice and can also dance - this is a lady's killer. ESPECIALLY when he sings a love song during courtship or when he's about to ask for sex. ❤‍🔥 A lot of Filipino men are funny (or at least try to be) and because a lot are bi-lingual or tri-lingual - they can easily adapt to languages and try to make some pun jokes out of it. And if he's not funny enough, at least he tries and ladies find it adorable when he tries to make her smile. ❤‍🔥 Some affectionate gestures are trying to hold her hands, open door for her, when walking in busy street he makes sure that she's on the safer side, asks how's her day or if she's eaten, and never shies away from wearing his heart out on his sleeve. I only have one RED flag and the main reason why you should stay away from them. 🚩 They EASILY MOVE on (especially the younger ones who are not down to serious commitment yet) and so therefore a lot of them are players. Ladies, Filipino men are heartbreakers. And I'm sorry to say this but if you're not down for trouble - STAY AWAY FROM FILIPINO MEN. I'm not saying all but I know a lot of friends and I grew up with mostly boys. I only got lucky enough my husband is loyal (or so I think). LOL 🤣

I have 2 theories about that. One is that the older generation Chinese are toxic but the younger generation changed a lot. Second theory is Chinese family or even friends have high standards on loyalty. And when you have near absolute loyalty you talk about everything. I found some non-Chinese friends hold back their tongue because they don’t trust people, so they say half of it and give hints, so that no one can hold their words accountable, but they are much lonelier on the inside.

Good breakdown and discussion. Something i would want to add to the whole stereotype toxcicity chart, which is prevalent in all sections of asia, is the society hierarchy from the high income earners in the asian cities to the lower income country folk. It would be a great conversation and would show alot of over lap. As a filipino guy whos family immigrated from the province of the phinippines to the US, i would say filipino guys in my stereotypical bracket sits between kroeans and Lao/vet/camb. The general stereotypical filipino guy will sit at the top. As a 2nd generation S. Korean-American guy that prefers the pronoun of Rooftop Korean, I'm very racially toxic but I do it in the privacy of my own home while I play certain songs. 😁 Before I eat a hot dog, I like to slowly pour sauerkraut on it while the German military song "Erika" is playing. When I'm in the mood to play Lawn Mowing Simulator on my gaming laptop, I like to play Los Moño Colorado by Los Pedernales. When I'm smoking a joint, I usually play Electric Avenue by Eddy Grant. When I feel really crazy, I put on my "I love Vietnam" boxers and a rice paddy hat and do random Tae Kwon Do moves while I play the song I'm a Korean by Rucka Rucka Ali. But, there are some days where I just drink a beer and think about my life while playing self-deprecating songs like Started as a Baby and Everyday Normal Guy 2 by Jon Lajoie. 😅

I have worked with all these different types of men for more than a decade , I get a lot of attention both negative and positive from them due to the fact that I’m the only woman in that position and I can I tell you her observations , I will give it a 90% accuracy. The Filipinos are also influenced by the Spaniards way of life and values ,I’m Filipino who spent my life in 3 countries. I mentioned that because it added to my experiences with a lot of nationalities.

@@samhayet4286no. In reality, every Asian American male is seen as quite stable and reliable unlike their own non-Asian male in comparison. We haven’t even hit the top of the iceberg related to toxic culture when a certain demographic shoots each over over cold fries, too much Mayo, unsatisfied with the Christmas presents and then all the fighting over child custody with another demographic. Even severe child abuse by the step dad and birth mom. This is why in reality many non-Asians appreciate the Asian culture and even love to live in Asian countries. Much safer and way less drama. What’s easy for an Asian person is that if one thinks their own is toxic with the sub-groups it’s then very easy to marry with a different Asian.

19 years in Philippines (born & raised) + 17 years in USA = I end up in relationship with a Middle Eastern for 13 years (first & only). You will not catch me dating Filipino men. I've seen enough with family, friends, friends of friends, neighbors, colleagues (I was a halftime girl in Philippine Basketball Association for years), schools, churches boy & etc - 90% are players. The funny thing is, the ugliest one with beautiful gf/wife are the ones who cheats a lot. They are packed with some serious audacity. Honestly, main reason I don't want to even date or get married at all. I have witnessed so much shit Filipino men do to their partners (take note, you can ask anyone, Filipinas are one of the most traditional women, sweet & loyal).

I would say this is also because a lot of them were spoiled growing up. The mothers spoil them too much. And the fathers even promoted womanizing, making it part of being a man. For me being a Filipino orphan, I was a serious one-woman Filipino guy by the time I hit 18. I fooled around when I was younger than 18 but it was harmless and nobody got hurt. But I have for decades been just a one-woman kind of guy. So I'd say it's how the parents tolerated and even encouraged it whereas my priority as an orphan was just to survive.

My complaint with Filipino guys isn’t that they’re mainly cheaters. In my experience as a Filipino woman overseas, I just think they’re just the least “intellectual” type which makes them in my eyes the least interesting to consider for dating. Needless to say, I’ve been cheated on and mistreated by American men, Algerian, South Asians before so yeah.

There are pros and cons to everything, and there are also levels to both sides. Being polite cannot equate to being good just like acting aggressive cannot equate to being dominant. It's actually so hard have genuine conversations with guys who are considered extremely non-toxic which can be hurtful even without being harmful for those who seek exchanges of true feelings. It's like talking to a wall. These guys don't reveal their thoughts and emotions as much as those that are considered a bit more toxic. Funny how it's the same for Europeans too. Swedish dudes are might be known as less "toxic" than Russian ones. Sometimes it's a plus, sometimes not. Yes, Russian men could be aggressive but also more genuine and truthful than Swedish guys. Not everything can be measured through a few people's experiences with some of the guys they've encountered. If it's not to extreme, I think a bit of toxicity is needed for healthy relationships.

I would almost reverse this list except the I agree that Japanese men belong at or near the bottom of the list for toxicity. Chinese men actually belong at the top and out of the bunch, seem to have the highest prevalence of narcissism. Manipulation? Mainland Chinese social heirarchy is all about it. Taiwanese men seem to be really nice and authentic by the way.

😂 I don't find this offensive don't worry, if anything, it's funny how i nod at it.😂 Filipinos are very emotional and passionate about everything. Love, friends, relationship, politics, religion, name it--we can get passionate about it. So interacting with Filipinos for long periods can be exhausting, a.k.a, social battery depletion. Also the fact how Filipinos can change our tune or mood in an instant. One moment, we're all friendly and tolerant, but the moment we get an insult or aggression, boom! No reason, no logic, we get warlike, literally can get physical and dangerous about disagreements. So please please, to avoid international murder cases, do be nice to Filipinos. Never offend one so obviously, like spitting at us or pointing fingers aggressively. We're nice if you're nice or indifferent, but if you're offensive, prepare your will. ❤ Nice video by the way!

1) Mainlanders because of CCP brainwashing, although the ones I personally met were smart, nice, and professional. I've had great experiences visiting HK and Shenzhen. There are just so many horror stories and bad behavior about mainlanders from around the world that the ugly Chinese tourist is as accepted as the ugly American stereotype. They seem to hang around in cliques. 2) Young SG people seem so Westernized and uber-materialistic(but not really toxic). The last SG guy I interacted with was pretty chill and liked basketball a lot. I’m just wary of their hustle culture because it has gotten people in trouble. 3) Viet people have swag and pride. I do not think it’s toxic. I respect what their country has done against the big superpowers. They should maintain that pride. There's a reason why Vietnam is rising. 4) Filipinos have pride, too, but sometimes in the wrong things. That said, I'd rather that we have pride and ego than be apathetic. We are typically laid back and can adjust easily to most situations. Most of us just want people to have fun and make the most of their lives. We cheer the underdogs. We help those in need. I can talk to any stranger on the street, and they can talk to me. Strangers have helped me out a few times, and I've helped strangers out a few times as well. That’s so far removed from toxic. Guys in my circle, including the players, are generally good guys and respect women, even their side chicks. Toxic”, as a term, has too many Westernized connotations and does not seem applicable to most Asian countries. It's a Western feminist label being used to denigrate guys. Filipinas and Filipinos do not really subscribe to the latest wave of Western feminism. A recent survey showed that Filipinas espouse traditional gender roles a bit stronger than Filipinos. I rarely encounter a toxic Filipino guy. I’ve encountered some toxic Filipinas but even they seemed a bit better than their toxic Western counterparts. I understand why Passport bros want Filipinas as wives. It's a win-win.

For 1 this are different cultures different morals and value and also toxicity could be projected and attain by a person's upbringing or personality. example filipinos are more open to date any race and still be accepted in the family and community. Some asian culture would stick to their own kind as its more accepted in their culture i won't mention which asian. lol i'm sure they know who they are. p.s love this topics .. wish i was there for this debate
