A Fisherman's Dream Catch!? KING SALMON Fishing on the RIVER!

We traveled 3000+ miles in hopes of landing a dream fish! From Southeast Florida to Washington state we experienced quite the difference in climate, culture and of course fisheries! Our friends at Team Rainshadow hosted us for a week where we would have the opportunity to fish the Northwest Peninsula and target king salmon (aka chinook salmon) and silver salmon (aka coho salmon) as they swim up the river to spawn and ultimately end their life cycle.
To our surprise this was a river drifting trip, which meant our boat had no motor and only oars! We drifted down the river anchoring from fishing hole to fishing hole using cured salmon eggs for bait. Amanda hooked and landed into her first king salmon on the very first cast which truly foreshadowed how the rest of the day was going to go….

The excitement in this video is priceless. Congrats ladies! I admire how quickly you ladies picked up on all the terminology. Absolutely nailed it all. From mending your line, float dynamics, hatchery fish, native fish, Chinook/Kings, Coho/Silvers, bucks and hens, bonking, the importance of bleeding, table fare, spawning fish, etc etc. Very well done!!

Fall fishing the great 8 tributaries of Lake Ontario ( from Niagara River and up to Cape Vincent !!!, pitstops at Sandy Creek in Hamlin NY is always a good time , so is the small bars all overtheplace , then off to Oswego NY and hit every creek in between.?.🤫 salmon river never disappoints ...

So crazy. I live in California you ladies live in Florida. Salmon, trout these type of fish been catching them my whole life. Should come to Michigan and fish the great lakes for salmon, and GIANT lake trout.. its actually walleye season right now too

Stream salmon fight But now they need to try deep water trolling for them, I think it will blow them away how fast a salmon can peel line when you think your about to net them and they dive 200 feet peeling drag in about 5 seconds lol

This fall/winter was a first for me as well. I Caught my first Steelhead. Unfortunately on my particular creek they have to be released. Wasn't targeting them to begin with but catching a 34" Steelhead on a 25" ice rod and 6 lb test was a pretty epic way to end my open season.

Ahh... at last you come to my part of the world... Loved drifting the rivers on the Peninsula... at that time, we usually fished with 6 lb test line because the limit was 3 fish and you'd hook and land 10 a day easily even with the light line!!! Congratulations!!
