Le Borsuk ( en polonais pour Blaireau ) est un véhicule de combat d'infanterie amphibie produit par Huta Stalowa Wola , un consortium de PGZ (Polish Armaments Group), conçu pour remplacer la flotte obsolète de BWP-1 (la désignation polonaise du BMP-1 ).

I totally agree! @GaliBellum you mentioned details that are only mentioned in Polish videos. Usually foreign videos only offer general details without going into specifics, which you did - so well done! Probably the best informative foreign video on the IFV Borsuk I've seen on youtube to date.

@@GaliBellum Jestem pod wrażeniem Twojej pracy, fachowości i zaangażowania. Oczywiście polski przemysł zbrojeniowy to frustrujący temat dla każdego Polaka. Oczywiście marketingu nigdy w państwowym przemyśle nie było, fundusze na badania bardzo małe, zdolności produkcyjne mizerne, do tego jeszcze politycy często coś popsują. Mamy parę na prawdę doskonałych wyrobów. Borsuk, ZSSW-30, drony z WB Electronics ( FlyEye, Warmate, Gladius), pancerz Pangolin, MANPADS Piorun, BMS artyleryjski TOPAZ, Krab, Rak ( podobno Tajwan zainteresowany ciekawe czy nie wystraszymy się Chin), GROT ( doskonale się sprawdza na Ukrainie)

Salut, impressionnant dans le sens ou la Pologne n'avait plus vraiment de tradition de construction de blindés locaux, mais ils apprennent vite et je ne serais pas étonné que les rumeurs qui disent qu'elles sera la plus grande et performante armée terrestre d'Europe dans quelques décennies soit vraie. Very good material. He explains not only the history and parameters of the badger, but also the sociology of Poles. Badger has a Stang4 resistance, but it has a Stanag5, but this has not been tested because the order was Stanag4. The use of a 23 mm caliber can also be due to the fact that it is a Soviet caliber. The Russians still use. It is similar with other parameters. Badger drives at a speed of 65km/h, but on the tests Jachał 80km/h. He floats at 8 knots, but he reached 12 ... @@Spacey_key The Borsuk weight is 28t. The Bradley weighs 27.6 tons, has a three-man crew, can carry six infantrymen, and is armed with a turret-mounted 25-mm cannon and an antitank missile launcher. Are you going to laugh at the M2? I don't think anyone thought that a good IFV could be built in Poland.

To be honest - ballistic resistance of Borsuk is weird. There is extensive artilce in Polish discussing armor layout and likely resistance to various types of weapons. it's 20mm high-hardness steel in two 10mm plates spaced with ~50mm of buyoncy foam. Potentially you can replace foam with something else, then it becomes a bit spicy and close to heavy IFV like Puma in terms of resistance. Depending what you replace it with. But even in current form, these 20mm give more resistance than 30mm of more typical steel. For Comparison, Bradley hull is made out of 1 inch thick aluminium plates, so ~ 25 mm of aluminium. Which is less effective than steel, you could factor it by 0,75 compared to steel. Which gives 19mm of steel equivalent if you want to be generous (most people give it lower factor, so possible it's closer to 15mm of RHA). So for starters, Borsuk is better armored than oryginal Bradley. Starting from A2, Bradley had 2 plates added on sides each .25 Inch so 2x 6 mm of additional spaced steel armor. But not on front. So likely that Borsuk has similar level of protection 360 degrees around vehicle as Bradley has on sides. Considering that high hardness steel is more effective than more typical steel used for armor. Arguably considering that it has one more internal plate (of same 10mm thickness) in front of vehicle between front mounted power pack and crew compartment - it ends up more survivable in frontal aspect compared to Bradley although at cost of engine being slightly easier to knock out (layout a it closer to Merkava although with thin plates). All the spaced armor in front and the fact that RPG would need to go through engine block only to find another plate at the end means that it is likely to survive frontal RPG hit or 30mm autocannon, although with engine getting fcked. If they decide to change foam for some form of NERA then it would be a nasty little brick. As for high hardness steel - it's normally not used because it's more time consuming to weld and more brittle than typical armor steel used in IFV, so it makes it not viable for thicker plates as it could crack under force of impact even if not penetrated.

Comme beaucoup d'autres téléspectateurs, je suis impressionné par la connaissance des réalités polonaises. Le meilleur programme en langue étrangère sur KZfaq sur le véhicule de combat d'infanterie Borsuk. Le Badger est un véhicule de combat d'infanterie tout à fait unique en Europe. Il est difficile de le comparer avec d'autres véhicules de combat d'infanterie occidentaux tels que Puma, Lynx, CV-90.

@@GaliBellum Kluczowe jest wymóg pływania, niższa masa , to wszystko jest super, ale ważniejsza jest przeżywalność, Borsuk ma parę plusów: odporność przeciwminowa jest wyższa niż w MBT, pancerz czołowy jest odporny na pociski z rosyjskich działek 30mm ( poza najnowszą amunicją), ale możemy to nadrobić instalacją skutecznego ASP, siła ognia rewelacja ZSSW-30 to topowy wyrób. Mimo wszystko dalej z ciężkimi BWP trudno go porównać

why a vehicle like "Borsuk" had to be built - just look at the map of Poland. 1/3 of the area through which the attack could go - from the east are forest/wetlands/lake districts. There had to be a vehicle that would operate effectively in such a terrain

szkoda, że projekt lekkiego czołgu pl 01 nie miał kontynuacji. Nasi decydenci ukatrupili to argumentując, mała wartościa bojową w starciu z ciężkimi czołgami, a sytuacja frontowa pokazuje, że takie maszyny mają zastosowanie. Dodatkowo, niemiecki producent właśnie wypuścił na rynek produkt, który wizualnie i gabarytowo jest bardzo podobny do pl 01. I oni nie widzą problemu w zastosowaniu.

PL-01 nigdy nie był ani nie miał być czołgiem. To był wypatroszony kadłub CV90 (tylko ze stanowiskiem kierowcy i układem napędowym) z makietą wieży, oczywiście wszystko w grubej warstwie sklejki, szpachli i szarej farby żeby wyglądało jak statek obcych. Gliwicki Ulep to była w najlepszym wypadku makieta koncepcyjna (bardzo optymistyczna) a w najgorszym bezczelna próba wyłudzenia grantu z ministerstwa. A Lynx 120 nie ma z Gliwickim Ulepem nic wspólnego. To po prosty kadłub bewupa KF41 (rozwijanego od dawna) z wieżą 120 mm.

@@olekzajac5948 no i? Jeden i drugi oparty na podwoziu bwp, z armatą. To, ze byla to makieta wszyscy wiedzą. Jeśli były jakieś szanse rozwoju projektu, to trzeba było to robić. Ale łatwiej kupić od ameryki bez przetargu, na górce po zawyżonych cenach, wszystko jak leci. Jeśli nasz przemysł ma coś produkować to od czegoś trzeba zacząć. Ja tylko chciałem zaznaczyć, że nie zawsze i nie wszędzie cięzki czołg jest najlepszym rozwiązaniem.

@@marz5715 Rzecz w tym że żadnych szans nie było. Wyobraź sobie że np Boeing albo Airbus pokazują nagle model samolotu który ma latać ze stukrotną prędkością dźwięku mieszcząc jednocześnie 5000 pasażerów. I mówią że jak tylko dostaną rządowe dofinansowanie to produkcja rusza w 2027. Kasę dostają, pokazują prototyp na dwóch czy trzech wystawach lotniczych a potem wszystko znika. I mniej więcej tak wyglądała historia Gliwickiego Ulepa to był pojazd nie dość że bez sensu (złe założenia) to jeszcze niemożliwy do wdrożenia w nawet o wiele dłuższym czasie. A czołgi lekkie sprawdzają się w bardzo specyficznych warunkach jak np. góry (chiński ZTQ-15), Polska potrzebuje czołgów podstawowych.

If it wasn't war our Governments, Poland today would be able to build their military with their own armored vehicles. We wasted a lot of time, and definitely too much. Instead of making projects of modernized BMP1, that was already 30-40 yo at the moment, we should start projects of our own vehicles instead. Borsuk opens new possibilities. There is finally Polish Company that has their own modern technologies that can be used in many vehicles. For example turret's stabilization, that after changes can be as well used in tanks. The best example for us should be Sweden. They not only have similar GDP to Poland, but they have only 1/4 of our population. Still, they managed to create their own technologies and today, they have their own tanks, IFVs, and even jets. Grettings from Poland, I wish you all great day/night, and sorry for my English.

It’s a great design very ideal for Poland which is a self defense power mostly, it’s aggressors are neat and it has very little overseas Interests save maybe for the link with S Korea, I’ll say what I always say when we compare anything French VS anything else, France is an will remain forever à mostly expeditionary army that means everything got to fit in a plane run in right horrid situations be made with a maximum of components from the civilian systems to source parts world wide fast, France can send a battle ready expeditionary corp with armor all the way to Australia in 72 hours… so sure we trade a lot of things to get that result. Full stop an expeditionary force can never be as hardened as a defense force, but it can put manouver it which compensate a lot for it short comings especially if you look at French military doctrines 😊 strike hard fast and bold

@@GaliBellum primitif mais efficace j'espère... Au 20mm oerlikon et barillet de 45 pélots j'ai tiré sur cible en mer.. Juste devant le ballon et derrière et le pacha a demandé qui tire... Le réserviste et.. Il va falloir que l'on fasse la guerre avec les réservistes... Et les fuscos ont ramassé une soufflante par le pacha à cause de leur tir AA52 loin du compte... Et il a dit au capitaine si il crève le ballon je lui paye le champagne.. Et un appelé à demandé à tirer et le pitaine lui a demandé si il verrait clair aujourd'hui... Mais aussi tiré à la tourelle de 100 nbc.. Et affût de 57mm bitubes, 40mm de salut.. Et tireur AA52 et.. Arrivé de quart à la passerelle je vois un type cigarillo à la bouche et chapeau de brousse à bord relevé et barbu et boubou ??? Et lui.. Non de dieu... Oh putain c'était toi au 20mm... Le saux et tu étais tireur AA52.. On a mangé par ta faute.. Et qu'est ce que tu fous là... Réserviste et.. Souvenirs... Djibouti zmoi 81.82.. Arta.. Transfert de munitions au camp de la légion étrangère à bord des gmc.. Ça passe partout.. Et eux armés balles réelles... Et grenades.. Sympas.. Et boîte de nuit et bars le soir le toucoul Djibouti... 19 et 20 ans au service militaire et vsl pour mission et tests Cooper.. 7x400 mètres en 12 minutes et de suite à la piscine et 50 mètres nage libre.. Réussi... Et coulé le kersaint.. Et un alizé à la mer et 3 blessés.. Qm1 et déf nat bronze et médaille des volontaires et.. Proposé second maître et reçu.. Et stop.. Après 2 périodes obligatoires... Vu le tir de 10 missiles tartar usa à biscarosse... Bien.. Plusieurs navires anti aérien et surface... Et au poste de tir pdom.. De la passerelle sup 45 pélots de 57mm par tube.. Et au premier passage du damier cible tout défoncée... Quel pied... Ils n'avaient jamais vu ça... Yes. Et tir réel AA52 à Djibouti et.. Il y a des types là bas avec des chameaux où dromadaires.. Et.. C'est pas grave.. C'est des bougnouls oups... Raisons familiales ont fait stopper l'armée où j'avais une solde un compte bancaire et nourri logé.. Mais impératif de rentrer.. Et meilleure paye et tous les soirs à la maison.. Vu des trucs où.. Personne n'a pris de photos ??..

l'optoélectronique est doublée car le tireur et le commandant en disposent, il existe aussi d'autres appareils plus "primitifs". Mais c'est une chose normale... il n'y a pas d'équipement blindé doté d'optoélectronique de secours... qui l'installerait au combat ?

As mentioned above, the gunner can use commander's sight and the other way around in case of emergency. In fact the parameters of the daytime cameras and laser rangefinders in the GOD-1 and GOC-1 (commander's and gunner's sights respectively) are identical and the only difference between the thermal cameras is their slightly different wavelength spectra as well as detection, recognition and identification ranges. But in case both sights get damaged, there is a backup optical sight that is not integrated into the turret's FCS and as far as I know has to be operated from the inside of the turret. It's located between the gunner's main sight and the gun mantlet and you can see it at 13:02. When not in use, it's covered by that armored flap you can see folded downwards (it can be done from the inside).

Nobody knows to be honest. There are some disadvantages to them, mainly that they are one-piece so they're unrepairable in the field. Although Americans are working on segmented rubber tracks and they're might be onto something with that concept. However they still remain an option - the dimensions of the sprockets and roadwheels didn't change.

Germans ain't gonna get this contract either! Had enough of their duplicity, lies and attitudes when trying to modernize our Leo2 tanks! We either build the stuff ourselves, like Borsuk, Rosomak or GROT rifle or rely on the trustworthy partners like the Koreans or even the Yanks. Leos are gonna go as soon as the Abramses and K2s show up in numbers. And it is not because Leos are bad tanks but because dealing with Krauts is a f'n nightmare!

I agree partially. While in fact getting something from germans and then trying to maintain it with their abysmal spare parts availibility is a pain. But our leo2 modernization is delayed not only by their sloppiness, but also thanks to our fecal pit called Bumar Łabędy. Their competence in "making" tanks ends with T-72s .

La capacité amphibie est un cauchemar qui entraine plus d'inconvénient (blindage) que d'avantage sauf mission spécifique comme l'assaut amphibie. Tout ceux qui ont franchi en VAB ou en AMX 10P connaissent tous les aspects restrictifs de cette pratique sur les plans tactique et de la sécurité des équipages. Le seul intérêt pour le VCI polonais est de tuer la concurrence étrangère sur l'appel d'offre national.

( Qui soit achete aux US soit favorise son industrie sans trop se cacher d ailleurs) La Pologne les relance et a elle a raison . Cherchez l erreur. Les théocraties et autre regimes autoritaires ont l avantage de pourvoir voir loin pour leur pays ( s ils veulent) .Les.démocraties ont pleins d'avantages pour les citoyens mais les politiciens ne pensent qu a leur réélection (ccul) donc ont le nez dans le guidon. Le mieux est souvent l'ennemi du bien... ce projet parait très (trop) complexe en essayant de répondre à trop d'exigences en même temps. Il faudra voir à l'usage mais il parait probable que de nombreux défauts de jeunesse vont apparaitre. S'ils peuvent être corrigés cela fera du Borsuk un très bon véhicule, mais cela peut aussi significativement entraver ses chances à l'export.

Asian countries buy equipment from Russia because Western countries do not produce IFV with buoyancy function. Everything you've written is speculation with absolutely nothing to back it up. The fact that floating IFVs are not produced in France or Germany does not mean that such a project is "too complicated" in other countries. BORSUK fulfilled all the tasks set by the military. Prototypes are there to find and remove 'child age diseases'

Nos transports de troupes nous c'est les griffons, qui ne sont pas amphibies, qui sont largement moins bien armés, qui ont une résistance balistique bien moindre, et qui ne doivent pas couter bcp moins chères que ces véhicules polonais.. après on a les jaguar, mais on va en avoir que 300, ils sont pas non plus amphibies, et ils n'ont pas la capacité de transporter des troupes. Bref, c'est à ce demander si nos véhicules font vraiment le poids face à ce qui se fait ailleurs..
