Gallbladder surgery is one of the most common operations performed worldwide. Many people have gallstones, and many people have abdominal pain. Not everyone who has abdominal pain, or everyone who has gallstones needs surgery.
In this video, Dr. Hilsden discusses the common symptoms associated with gallstones to help patients understand whether their symptoms are a result of their gallbladder.

Make sure you ask, is it really my gallbladder causing my pain? 1. Cholecystitis occurs when stone stuck in neck & pain is constant under ribs. Fever & nausea an ultrasound will show the stuck stone & surgery only solution 2. Biliary Colic shoulder back pain & pains last 2-6 hours white blood normal & no stuck gallstone or fluid around gallbladder. some symptoms vary which is why it can be tricky to diagnose. Ask your physician what you can expect after surgery. Removal is intended to stop the attacks that can be debilitating.

Can gallstone pain cause a short throbbing pain under right rib cage that comes and goes lasting only minutes? I aslo had the sholder pain out of nowhere for a week prior, that is gone but now the throbbing pain,

Hi Dr, I have been told I need gallbladder removal, an ultra sound scan report said I have a 6mm gallbladder wall with a 16mm impacted gallstone plus sludge but I don’t have any of the pain, occasionally I feel a little uncomfortable but I feel sick after most meals. I have no jaundice, I do have itchy skin and hands, I get very tired and occasionally I have palpitations. I have no idea what this is suggesting as every gallbladder vlog I have watched all say pain pain pain of which I have none. Is this normal please?

Obviously, I can't provide specific advice to your case. That being said, feeling sick after meals is a symptom that could be explained.

I had my gb removed 6 years ago I had instant relief 😅but I have started to get the same symptoms of pain again but only lasting about 1 hour each time what could this be??

It is possible to have a problem with your bile ducts. Ultrasound or MRCP might help you here. Problems with the sphincter of Odi. The sphincter that controls the bile released from the liver can be a case too. Talk to your doctor they can investigate these things

I have my gallbladder removed yesterday and peeing and number 2 hurt ish when I need to go and I am 17 years old and it’s crazy that I have this so young
