I don’t agree with the belief that this was a happy ending. It wasn’t happy, it wasn’t satisfying, it wasn’t even bittersweet, it was all just... bitter. Also, Daenerys’ turn to mad queen makes no sense when you compare her to other characters. She executed people who harmed innocent people and disobeyed her. So did Jon, Ned, Arya, Tywin, Jaime, Rob and every ruler ever. She’s had men and women burned alive. So did Stannis and other civilizations who burned criminals alive. None of these examples convince me of her madness because others have done the same and came out without madness. I just feel empty and not in a good way.

It pisses me off so much how Jon did JACK SH*T till the very end. Even killing Danaerys felt so unsatisfying. His whole character-arc was blown up way beyond what he eventually ended up doing in the show. This is the most unsatisfactory ending to an amazing show I've ever seen. The writers had all their millions in their bank accounts, so they just had to wrap it up.

This makes me appreciate Joffery as a villain.

The characters did things that would never happen in earlier seasons. And all of a sudden in Season 8 Jaime rode to Kings Landing in days, but in earlier seasons it took Robert Barathean a month to get to Winterfell.

I get the part where Bronn chooses brothels over ships it reminds me of little finger saying that Whores don't tend to sink. It just needed to have more depth, 10 seasons were needed to understand the characters feelings of events. Nobody mentioned about the Golden company and their commander the dude didn't even get a line. D&D spat on the show and people should reject their Star Wars series.

Dany had nothing and became the most powerful queen by sheer determination. She liberated slaves, liberated women from sexual slavery, civilised the Dothraki, and saved humanity from death by the White Walkers. She was betrayed by her trusted advisors and cruelly murdered by her lover. After her death, the wheel of oppression returned. It was back to building ships for conquests and brothels for sexual conquests! The fact that millions have rejected Daenerys' transition not only suggests to me that the transition was poorly written (undoubtedly) but that such a transition can never be well written. Perhaps this is because it is a transition that makes little logical sense. Liberators don't turn into tyrants.

Conclusion of the whole series: Arya is sailing west to give a smallpox to the Mayans.

Even if they showed a White Walker symbol it wouldn't have mattered at that point as they were relatively easy to beat in the end. Just lure out NK and hit him with dragon glass or Valyrian steel and there goes his million wight army. After 8 seasons and 9 years of waiting, this finale along with this season from episode 3 onward was underwhelming with all this build up just fizzling out. Many of us were hoping there would be a gradual coming together of various storylines with some explanations of why the White Walkers were back but everything got forced into position with no explanations and things just happened to move the plot along. Is Bran going to train another 3-eyed Raven to be his successor? (and why does everyone act like that is an established position now when no one had ever heard of it before?) Why aren't the Dothraki pillaging the kingdom now that the person they swore oaths to is dead? What's going on in Mereen now that their Queen is dead? Other than being a dumping ground of bastards and criminals, what on earth is Night Watch going to do since the Wildlings are no longer enemies and the Wall serves no purpose anymore especially with that gaping hole in it? This finale smacks of a term paper written on the final night.

I hated this episode as well, but I liked the scene of Drogon burning the throne. It's implied that dragons might be a lot smarter than just beasts, and I think in that moment, in a foreign land, looking at his mother's corpse, he knew that it was her obsession which ultimately caused her death. He hated her pursuit for the throne, he hated the corrupting influence of power.

The scene when Drogon melts down the iron throne was a symbol for the entire season 8 imo, it looked great but made no F*ing sence!!!

Episode 5 - the whole keep was buried under rocks, there was no way to escape Episode 6 - ow, they were standing in a wrong place. A little bit to the right and these 3 or 4 rocks wouldn't have killed them.

The melting down of the throne was symbolic. We destroy what you enjoyed for 7 years in 1 minute.
