Oh man, I’ll never forget. About 33 years ago, when I was a wee lad, my family moved into a new, bigger house when my little brother was born. There was a boy one year older than me who lived in the house across the street. Naturally, we became friends, and on my first visit into his home, he brought me into the basement, where he had the most amazing collection of GI Joe toys, including the aircraft carrier. I agree...delaying Halo was a smart decision. Launching with a broken unfinished game would do more damage then delivering sad news of a delay. Xbox needs Halo to deliver the best possible experience.

Bought a One X with gamepass so I could play Halo and was still debating buying a Series X at launch but definitely not now. Will wait for some exclusives that for me are worth buying a new system but making the PS5 looking damn tempting

Xbox had Halo CE at launch. I bought the console but did not have enough money for any games, so I played that Halo demo for weeks. I was one of few who bought the Xbox at launch and you guys remember also the box had a price drop within months of launch, so I benefited for that rebate where I got like £100 worth of games which was Halo CE and can’t remember the other game.

Halo could be series x exclusive. With xcloud, it'd be able to stream to xbox one thus fulfilling their promise that it'll play on both.

A lot of these gaming podcasts would always give the argument that most of the time gaming consoles would launch with average or less than average games. I agree but the competing consoles had BOTH bad launch titles but in this case, the PS5 would have Spiderman MM and the series X would have no AAA game to go compete with the ps5. To the average gamer who don't watch video game content on youtube or don't give a single f**k, spiderman is spiderman. Whether miles morales would be great or just good, people will still buy that just because it's spiderman. Also, as much as I would like to buy an xbox, I would not have enough time to play with two consoles. And again, most people will not buy two consoles unlike those in youtube comments that say "I have both consoles but...". Then again, these people working with the games industry need to play games as it is their job to talk about so I see the need to have all consoles and a PC. Kinda wish part of my job was to also play games but leaned on being a doctor who most of the time can only play about 2hrs a day but would listen to gaming podcasts in my free time at work. edit: I also noticed that from all of the IGN podcasts recently, not a single person would have a strong stance/opinion on this subject matter. They would always be in the middle grey area. I think either they're just avoiding to get bashed by console fanboys. Any suggestions of podcasts with honest and passionate opinions on games? Don't get me wrong I've been watching IGN podcasts since around 2013/2014.

Is PlayStation Now too good of a secret? Justin suggested to letter-writer Joaquin to get a PC because it has PC and Xbox games but it also has PlayStation games. PlayStation Now has PlayStation "exclusives" that rotate over time. So far I've played Until Dawn, God of War, Uncharted 3, Little Big Planet 3, Last of Us, and Marvel's Spider-Man all without ever owning a PlayStation. Not to sound like a fanboy but as a proud tightwad I go where I can save the most money and the PC is where it's at.

When Killzone Shadowfall, a PS4 launch game, looks better than Halo Infinite. You have a big problem. The power narrative only hits home when your games demonstrate it.

Sony clarified that the top 100 was a "snapshot" of the games compatible day 1, of which they said should be hundreds if not thousands by launch. Over time as they test more games the "overwhelming majority" will be compatible in the long run. Is the Series X the undesputed more powerful system though Sam....? What about the crazy throughput of the PS5 SSD? I think that people might be falling into the terraflop trap, but I could be wrong. Yes COVID has more the world a harder place for everyone. But looking at this year many AAA games were still released or coming. TLOU2, GoS, Valhalla, Cyberpunk 2077, Avengers, and etc. So 343 saying COVID was a reason is bs. Not only does 343 have one of the biggest tech companies backing it, MS was and is huge in the work from home area. If Halo Infinite was just started and it was delayed I get it. But almost every game so far that was released for this year has been released or coming soon. I mean look at the yearly released titles like CoD, Madden, FIFA, and so on. Those games still came out. 343 and Xbox don’t want to admit the Halo demo was a disaster. Especially since the last 2 Xbox events were bad for games. One didn’t show gameplay really and the one that did show gameplay looked bad. We don’t expect Halo to look like a game will towards the end of console cycle but it should at least look as good or better then a current gen game. As Daemon said Ghost looks amazing. So did games like HZD, Spider-Man, Gears 5, GoW, Forza, Ori, and BotW. Yet that Halo demo looked like it was running on a 360 dev kit. I do disagree that fans want all the bells and whistles like ray tracing and whatnot for the Halo game. The fans just want a decent looking Halo game. When you throw around statements "most powerful console" and "optimized for Xbox" then you show a demo like Halo Infinite of course people are going to be upset. Yea you can get the Game Pass for a dollar but it’s not like that is a year deal or anything. MS/Xbox want you to signup for the monthly ultimate game pass that includes Xbox Live with Gold. That is $15 a month, which is $180 a year. That doesn’t save you anything really. As it was $60 for Live and $10 a month for GP, which is $120 a year. So it’s not a deal. See game pass though isn’t what is going to keep games like Halo, Forza, and Gears afloat. Those games costs hundreds of millions just to make without marketing. The devs, like 343, doc are about sales as that is what keeps them working. $10-$15 game pass isn’t a reason to buy a $400-$600 console. Ori and Cuphead are signs that the Xbox isn’t a viable system to support exclusive games. The whole "most powerful console’ and optimized for Xbox" doesn’t mean shit when you don’t have the games. No way Xbox can go this route of service and console. That have to focus on one or the other. If GP is the future then MS needs to get out of the console market and just make Xbox a service like steam or stadia. Because there is no Xbox is gonna be successful with 15+ studios on game pass only. With Halo being delayed just makes people more likely to buy GP and not get Halo as a full price game. The X1 and the PS3 showed that price matters and the XSX isn’t gonna be cheap. So without games why buy an XSX? Exclusives are huge and more consoles. Spider-Man Miles Morales will sell ps5 consoles. My house alone will have 2 day one PS5 consoles and maybe an XSX, as halo was the only reason my roommate wanted it. Plus, please please stop acting like game pass is this service that never existed before. PS Now is the same thing. It was on the PS3 long before GP. Sony didn’t update as they have the franchises that sell. Whereas MS needs game pass to bring some revenue. I’ll get both consoles but the ps5 is a day one and this time the XSX is not. I got both last time. Especially since X1 had DR3, Ryse, KI, and Sunset Overdrive. X1 had a decent lineup compared to the PS4. The PS4’s to big games was killzone and resogun. I remember my biggest game was WF until Second Son game later.
