Welcome back to Game Scoop!, IGN's weekly video game podcast. This week your Co-op Mages -- Daemon Hatfield, Tina Amini, Sam Claiborn, and Justin Davis -- are discussing Final Fantasy 7 Remake Integrade. They're mostly playing older games at the moment, like Skyrim and Yakuza Like a Dragon. And they'll discuss the games they hope to play in the retirement home some day.

We see you have a lot of questions about the podcasts moving to a new channel. We'll try to answer them here. We're going to have playlists for each of the podcasts on the new channel -- so you can just hit "save playlist" and hopefully find the show easily when you want to watch."Why not post to the existing channel in addition to IGN Games?" We considered this, but it causes issues with both duplication/promotion, splits the community, and is much more complex for our syndication team. Not only will this allow more people to discover our shows, but it'll also enable us to use new features like the community tab, helps with moderation and rights management, and so on. The Games channel isn't going to be posting 20+ pieces of content like our big, main IGN channel.KZfaq is tricky to program with long-form talk content, and the once-a-week upload strategy hasn't been working for us. The podcasts rarely get surfaced outside of their channels, whereas we've seen success with Next-Gen Console watch on our main IGN channel. So, the idea was to create a channel dedicated to all games content. If you subscribe and only watch a podcast, I'm sure it's what you'll see in your feed. If not, you can always save the podcast playlist and find the new episodes that way. We know it's an inconvenience for some of our existing subscribers, but hopefully the change will be pretty minimal -- and we'll have more fans discovering the podcast. The more viewers we get, the more time and money we can put into it.

Imagine getting a PS5 playing with the console for a couple of months then your controller drifts. Insult to injury is that it is super hard... to almost impossible to get a PS5 controller separately. This is terrible.

There wouldn’t be an issue for us to click a link and subscribe because we’re here to watch the new episode, but now we’re going to have to remember and look for it when it goes live. Some people aren’t going to bother doing that. This new move to get a bigger audience is already costing them viewers.

Another Great jumping on point for the Yakuza series is,Judgment. It's made by the Yakuza team and takes place in the same city, but tells a Detective story with a new protagonist and new side characters. It has full English voice over like Yakuza 7, but has the traditional brawler combat of the rest of the series,, mixed with new crime scene searching/deduction gameplay, tailing missions, and some interview/trial, pick the right question moments. It's wonderful and getting an upgraded version in March. (Though it isn't a free upgrade for ps4 owners).

If "drift" is the character movement not matching the player's input, then my dualsense has drift. The left analog stick has reduced range/sensitivity between the clock positions of 12 and 2 so that, for example, my character in demon's souls tends to walk in that direction instead of the normal run from having the stick pressed all the way. My second controller has had no issues. Great episode, thanks for pointing out that the new channel will have specific playlists. That makes it super easy to copy and paste in an existing bookmark.

I’m not sure what Justin is talking about where he says that in Mario co-op whenever somebody dies they stay dead until the checkpoint or end of a level. If a player dies, they just press a button and they come back. This can be done as many times as you want as long as you have lives.
@skatendo

Exactly. Heck, take 5 minutes and get the 1000+ lives. And if you just want to be cat mario, just use the amiibo and you can use is as much as you want. Both problems solved.

Justin is hitting the nail on the head with his experience playing Mario 3D world with his kid. I also play with my 4 year old and it can be fun but also, very frustrating, just with the bubble system. I may look into Sackboy at this point as my patience for 3D world is running thin. However, my daughter still loves "cat mario" just too much to quit.

I found the camp charm and refined battle system of FF7R (and the music!!) gave me so much energy that I didn't really hitch too hard on the sidequest padding. I did hate backtracking through that sewer. As a newcomer that didn't play the original I could not have been happier. Let's just see if the Nomura goofiness doesn't detract from the solid elements as this hilarious, weird plot unfolds. "I have no idea who these characters are, but welcome aboard"

Sega must be making a lot more money on the series, but they regressed in presentation by not making the game fully voiced and went with a tedious gimmicky combat system that doubles down on the worst part of the Yakuza combat and that is repetitive fights that you either don't feel like you are involved in or aren't that fun to play.

Agreed with Sam's sentiments about the new Ghosts n Goblins. In an age where 2D platformers have reached new heights with titles like Dead Cells, I think Capcom really missed an opportunity here to bring the series up to modern standards. The art style is beautiful but your character's moveset and enemy spawn/attack patterns really look like they're still stuck in an 80's arcade setting where draining every last one of your quarters is the main objective.

The drift issue is so egregious in a 70 euro controller. I learned to change mine and the cheap Chinese one that I put in so much better, makes me question what level of quality they are actually putting in these expensive controllers. When I got my switch I was being so careful with it after reading all the drift issues but it still happened on both my left controllers. Since they are already dead for me I decided to watch a "Spawn wave" video and order the 12 euro (15 dollars I guess) kit from amazon. The kit came with 2 sticks to I was able to fix both and it was so simple to fix as well. Since I know how to fix them I have given them much more abuse and yet they are still working 1.5 year later, with no issues

When the new channel goes up, could you make a quick video or youtube announcement post thing so we know where to find it. You probably should have the channel open so people can subscribe... but idk, I'm not an algorithm expert

sadly the opposite of what justin said happened for yakuza lad, i personally enjoyed the game quite a bit but it flopped on the sales charts in the west partly due to xbox paying sega to delay the ps5 version which would have produced the bulk of the sales as the core yakuza fanbase plays on playstation

Hopefully that prompts them to change the combat back. It sucks to bring a PlayStation game multiplatform with an exclusivity deal on the new platform

Okay I actually kind of agree with Daemon here. I almost never ride the horses in games. Even in BOTW.
