Flywheel training is the best way to safely and effectively train the eccentric portion of a lift, where we're the strongest. A flywheel can lead to gains in strength, hypertrophy, sports performance, and more. Not to mention it's just a lot of fun to use!
In this video, I break down flywheel training and take you through a review of one of the best flywheels on the market: the Exxentric kBox4.

@@johnnygunzfilmbuff7821 I bought a knock off version of this - it really does provide a unique experience. I would rather use a barbell and weights but I didn't have the space so this was an alternative for squats and deadlifts. It is a good idea and provides a different stimulation to the muscles but unfortunately it is really expensive - if prices were more reasonable I think flywheels could get quite popular.

I use this for squats, rows, dead’s, curls. I do the rest with pull ups on a stud bar and dips on my bar stools, I sprint and shadowbox. This thing is fantastic. Wish I would have known 40 years ago

I've had my Kbox active for almost a year now. I still use it all the time and really like it. The burn I get from it is unlike anything I get from standard weights. I primarily use it for squats, bar and rope curls, one arm rows, bent over bar row, deadlifts, lying tricep extensions (I move my bench over to it so the pulley is behind my head. I have to put weights on the Kbox so it doesn't lift off the ground). I still do squats and everything else with barbells too but it's nice to change it up to have some variety in my training. I have the advanced flywheel knob with 4-Large plates, 1 medium, and 1 small. I recently built a 1" platorm to raise the Kbox so I can purchase the XL plate. The reason it won't fit is because the Kbox pro is slightly taller and allows it to clear. Expensive but worth the money in my opinion.

I picked one of these ups about 4 months ago, its amazing. I bought it to supplement the standard squat rack/bench setup I have, but it actually could almost replace a whole gym setup. I don’t even do normal bar squats anymore due to the kbox’s belt squat capability. That’s just one of 20 plus movements you can do on it. If you are thinking of getting a belt squat machine or have limited space this piece of equipment is a must have.

I have the K box and the K pulley. I really like both of them. The finish on the pulley matches my gray RM6 very well and works great attached to a post. I now do the majority of my squat work on the k box and I don't think I'm going back to a barbell anytime soon, if at all. I've noticed a huge increase in power, as evidenced by my max watts numbers on the air bike. I like the box better than the pulley, but if you have the budget for both it is a great combo to have. My favorite moves on the pulley are lateral raises and overhead tricep press with a rope.

I have a Kbox 4 Pro that I use for squats and deadlifts in my apartment. The main advantages over free weights is that it is so space efficient and quiet. I prefer weighted chins and dips for upper body. I do some pushups and inverted rows on the TRX because it’s just more convenient. I also use some dumbbells for shoulders. I bought a fake version from Alibaba. Although I had some quality control issues (which were a big hassle to correct) and it took forever to ship, in the end I think it works about the same for much less money. It works ok for squats and deadlifts, but I actually like it better for upper body workouts as it really allows you to get a burn. For me, I am not used to belt squats and it is rather quad dominant, better with a squat harness. For deadlifts, it works but it is a bit jerky at the top - I still prefer barbell though. Overall, it is an alternative but I wish the price for the real version was more reasonable. I did notice some ads on Instagram recently for some new competitors that have more reasonable prices so I would also check those out.

You could buy a squat rack and barbell with weights and do every possible exercise with weights and equipment that would last your entire life. As opposed to this wheel mechanism which could easily get damaged and need repairing.

Man I have watched this video 3 times and for most of the movements I can closely replicate or emulate the eccentric overload on my other equipment. (Such as being able to lean back with the preacher pad and then slowly lower the weight). The one movement that seems hard to replicate is the sideways lunge/squat where one foot is on the platform and the other is on the ground. That seems very helpful with athletic movement. But what other ways are there to put stress on the body in a similar manner?? I’m just wondering if this movement is only able to be overloaded with this machine only.

Is this design patented? I’m amazed the market hasn’t flooded with cheaper alternatives. There are some ive found. It’s a shame by gen 4 they couldn’t get the price down

How noisy are these devices? I don’t want to disturb my neighbors. Many thanks in advance.

These make very little sound at all. The neighbors can’t hear it.

Too expensive to consider, until my winning lottery ticket comes in. Sounds great, though. 👍

How do you do chest… what a serious drawback
@qwie100
@qwie100 Жыл бұрын
You can hit chest with it, either sitting on the side and using the angle adjuster or push up with a spud inc front squat harness (what I do). That said, I generally focus on OHP more than bench so it isn't a huge issue for me.

Yes if you pull it hard the cable just twangs or goes floppy,so you can only pull it slowly and softly.
