Mashua is a tuberous cousin of the garden Nasturtium. It's been used by humans for over 8000 years and in cultivation for 1400 years in Peru and Bolivia. Leaves and flowers are mild and nice in a salad. Tubers can be harvested all Winter or left in the ground where the plant will continue to grow year after year like a perennial. Tubers are spicy raw, a nice addition grated into a salad or roasted whole with other root vegetables. Plants require some space but love to climb so you can save a lot of space by providing a trellis.

We do ship a limited amount of tubers to the US now, but the risk of tubers not arriving in good condition and customs maybe taking them is on the customers. Feel free to take a look: gardensforlife.ie/shop There is an US shipping ad on for 9 euro extra.

Hey Martin. Thanks for the great video. Any signs yet of regrowth from the mother tuber? Maybe it is too early to tell.

Thank you for very good and informative video! I bought some Mashua and Oca tubers from you and can't wait them to arrive. It is going to be extremely interesting to see can they produce any crops here. We live in the southern coast of Finland so we are hoping for the best. Still looking Ulluco tubers to buy from somewhere. Keep on posting interesting videos!

Enjoyed the video, thanks a lot. Do the mashua store well or do you preserve them in any way? I would have liked to see the way they're propagated. Do you keep the crowns, like dahlias, or do you replant some of the tubers? It's a shame you're not sending to mainland UK. Thanks again

Thanks! We simply store tubers in dry potting compost and replant them in spring. They store very well, no need to preserve. We do sell to the UK but only through our ebay shop. Here's a link: www.ebay.co.uk/str/gardensforlifeeire

@@GardensforLife There doesn't seem to be any mashua on your e-bay shop but there is on your website shop. Is mashua the same as Cinnamon Vine?
