A few days of roadcruising content followed by an awesome day in the mountains. I finally got to see my first Eastern Hellbender in Georgia, but unfortunately turbid water and encroaching nightfall made getting video almost impossible. I plan to return to this area eventually when water quality is better, and get some better video of these awesome animals.

So jealous! All i find in the uk are common frogs and toads, slow worms and newts maybe the odd lizard (1 a year) and very rarely an adder or two.. in fact i rescued 5 baby newts that i am about to release! (I work for the waterboard and they often get stuck in fittings, i see it as my duty to release every animal i find, and i find hundreds!)

Those hellbenders are a lighter color than the ones I see here in the western NC mountains. I do a lot of trout fishing and usually see 4 or 5 hellbenders a year. Or water dogs as we call them. Most of the ones I see are almost completely black but I did see a orange one once

I've been watching your channel for awhile now and I gotta ask, how in the hell do you see those itty bitty earth snakes and worm snakes and things on the road while you're driving!? Lol keep up the killer content dude. By the way, are you aware of a magical place called Snake Road in Shawnee National Forest in southern Illinois? If not I'd be happy to tell you all about it but I'll give you a teaser first, I seen 17 cottonmouths there the other day with minimal effort, among other species lol.

@StaleyTraining
@StaleyTraining 3 жыл бұрын
I'm wondering if you (or any of your viewers) have a theory on why these snakes bite so INfrequently when handled? After all, even if you handle hem gently, you MUST be viewed as a threat. Have. you thought about this?
@NKFherping
@NKFherping 3 жыл бұрын
The short answer is snakes aren’t as evil or prone to bite as other KZfaqrs or people in the public light make them out to be for the sake of views/attention. I try to portray the snakes as accurately as possible, but with that being said I have plenty of videos where I find temperamental snakes and get torn to shreds! Another factor is many harmless snake species, such as Ringnecks, are incredibly docile and almost never bite. Other species, such as Watersnakes, will almost always bite and sometimes I refrain from handling them on camera if they’re temperamental.
@StaleyTraining
@StaleyTraining 3 жыл бұрын
@@NKFherping Yes you do a great job regarding accurate portrayal ... it's actually good that you show the occasional bite, not only because it's honest, but also because it's not as big a deal as many people imagine. Great job with the channel!
