In today's video, we're going to be checking out PetSmart’s Merry & Bright line of small pet Christmas items, and discussing which ones are safe for gerbils to use and hopefully I'll be able to get some of these items and use them in my Christmas tank theme video :)

I already did mine last week 😅 interesting seeing the difference between what your pet stores offer Vs the UK, we don't have those advent calenders, but we did get some stockings! 😄

@@TheGerbilVine they did very much enjoy them, everything chewy already got shredded, and Pumbaa tried to dig in the Santa hat and ended up hopping around the playpen 😂 I'll have to go and get them more presents for Christmas day, they had to get the others early to show everyone what they thought for the video, but they didn't mind 😅

@@TheGerbilVine Finding the supplies is a pain in my country. but i am searching far and wide and getting everything to make them happy in their enclosure. Your channel is very good. I do have some recommendations as for talking topics if you'd be interested for future video references. thank you for everything that you do.

Thats awesome! What are you getting your kitties? My cats always like the wrapping paper, boxes and ribbon the best, even though they get cool new cat toys, they prefer the recycling lol

I just did my tank clean today :D That aspen bag looks like a great product. Pity they are not sold where I live - I would add some to the other bedding material if I could

Are you still using shredded kitchen towel ? If I remember your little one(s) have sensitivities.

@@TheGerbilVine That's correct, you remembered :) Copito has been fine since the change of bedding, to one completely dust-free and no chemicals. You can watch a video I uploaded to my channel, and watch the bedding in action. The video was recorded today just after the tank's clean up

Hello, I have a question about gerbils I am having a tough time finding the answer to on Google. I have the opportunity to buy an affordable large tank. (40 gallon breeders are so expensive!) With the dimensions of 36" long, 20" tall and 12" wide. Does width matter more than height or do you think 12" width is too narrow?

Hey ! In my own personal opinion I would find 12 wide to be too narrow, but I think the over all floor space is what would be most important. So 36 x 12 = 432 sq inches of floorspace. A pair of gerbils should have at least 648 sq inches of floorspace , which is equivalent to a 20 gallon tank each. Due to this I would say the tank would not be adequate space for them in the long run. I would encourage you to keep saving & looking, you may come across something more suitable for a permanent long term home :).
