What’s happening in this Get Out movie clip?
Dozens of wealthy white people arrive for the Armitages' annual get-together. They express admiration for Chris's (Daniel Kaluuya from Black Panther and Queen & Slim) physique and for black figures such as Tiger Woods. Other white people make questionable or clumsy remarks about black people. Chris meets another black man, Logan King (Lakeith Stanfield from Dope), who behaves strangely and is married to a much older white woman.

What’s the movie Get Out about?
Chris Washington (Daniel Kaluuya), a young African-American man, spends the weekend with his girlfriend Rose Armitage (Allison Williams) to meet her parents. Although they seem normal at first, he is not prepared for the horror ahead of him.

Scary thing about this segment of the movie is that, on first watch, you think Rose is on his side, but once you find out the truth, you realise that he is well and truly on his own, and he doesn't even realise it yet.

I look at it on another angle. They can't wait to tell him what his fate is and Rose being the pragmatist that she is, is telling them to shut up and not give anything away.

@randomami8176
@randomami8176 2 жыл бұрын
That’s just tells you how big and powerful the media indoctrination has impacted your brain. Most right wing conservatives aren’t even racist, but neither pretend to be protectors or saviors of black people, but more like indifferent to the race issues, at least politically speaking. Only because media has demonized them so much in the last few years have they (some) spoken up. Cons care about the stuff they always cared about (law and order, free markets, defense, guns rights, etc). But because many of these positions are in conflict with blacks positions, then they are immediately labeled racist or twisted to sound racist. Liberals instead are obsessed with it, more because they used non white people as a tool of redemption for themselves. That is why a rich liberal goes on lecturing others about race, poverty and other social issues, but when it comes down to it, they are the first ones to oppose development of public housing in their areas, live in gated communities and send their kids to private school. I know plenty liberals and conservatives.

When someone is privileged in life they could never understand. I saw this movie 🎬 for the first time this year. I understood every aspect. It's just a movie, however, anyone that is of color understands the hidden meaning. I am a black woman, and I know when I'm in a room full of racist. I have wisdom and I see through more than I need to. This country is in first place when it comes to racism. We win every gold medal 🏅. One day things will change, however, Christ will have to do that. Humanity just keeps failing. We need prayer 🙏.

With all due respect, these experiences are not exclusive just to black people... even I (who appears as white but I'm actually mixed) can resonate exactly with what Chris is experiencing. If I can resonate with Chris, then perhaps it's bigger than black people--maybe America needs to open its eyes and realize that when ANY race is a minority in a country of a different race, they WILL deal with systemic and social racism. This issue is bigger than just America, and no America does not win the gold medal (maybe bronze or silver). You want see who really wins the gold medal? Go to Africa or the Middle East

@@dwiz_9336 You really want to trivialise the abusive and oppressive operation of w.supremacy don't you? It was w.supremacy which destabilised Africa so how can Africa or it's systems be more racist than Europe? w.supremacy is a European social operation and is unprecedented and unparalleled in the cr!mes of racial abuse....it even defines much of our present social reality because it defined this paradigm and it's still in operation fulfilling the same objectives, which are apparent in all fields of social study....there are disparities across the board. You quite possibly have a Eurocentric mind orientation because you implied because blacks are the minority on a land they must be racially abused in various forms, but blacks have a larger population on the planet than do whites, so they are the minority on the most significant scale....it's just blacks have been duped into misidentifying themselves as w.people need them to, it presents an advantage and vulnerability to exploit....which is a key feature of white dominance a.k.a racism

@@dwiz_9336 I truly do think non-white races are not portrayed, in such a negative light as black people. American black people level of racisim is on a totally different level. You're definitely entitle too your experience.But the racism as a black person is and always will be on another level compared to other people.

Maybe look at a dictionary and see what those two words mean. And FYI, assuming that a white guy is making a comparison to a F***ing horror movie, regardless of context as trying to be anti-black, is just as racist as what you're trying to make him out to be. Racism swings both ways no matter who is the majority or the minority. And one other thing, considering that you have a username based on a quote made by a white, sinister, racist, sexist and homophobic character such as Colonel Jessup, makes you a hypocrite. Since you agree with the line, that makes you a sell out to white. Think on that before you say BS like this again.

@@Shanethefilmmaker *Tut tut* 'A fool hardy hero with a paper sword' I have clearly said no such comparison should be made between the scale and level of abuse of w.society against b.people for generations across the globe and his experience (which could very much be the retaliation to racism *which isn't racism itself* it important to understand that. You seek to shut down retaliations to actual racism by seeing any retaliation to it as racist, which is incorrect and will have you sacrifice yourself for an idea that doesn't exist in reality. B.people are NOT racist to w.society, their whole system is based off of that fact, but b.people do retaliate to racism and mostly in a way that further gets them abused by a racist system) . Anyway, in regards to my name w.people are not avatars of the truth, you must not be aware of how much truth they themselves have hidden. So I was not inspired by them to create such a name, but your comment has roots in your eurocentric focus. Malcolm X also said w.people can't handle the truth and you didn't even think about him. So did Khalid Muhummad and other black intellects, I kmow why your mind gravitated to european men being my influence even though I am black and black people have said the same thing in a different context.
@Shanethefilmmaker
@Shanethefilmmaker Жыл бұрын
@@-ucanthandledatruth01-12 That's your problem then. You focus on the weight of the scale, rather than the scale itself. To me, racism is racism. It goes both ways regardless of who gets it more. That being said, you sound awfully proud of the fact that black people get more racism. Almost as if you like it to keep going, just for the status of being discriminated, when I don't know an actual sane person who wants to end it so people can live their lives more peacefully over all, but what do I know? As for your name. You can't BS your way out of this one. The line "You can't handle the truth." Was uttered by a character named, Colonel Nathan R. Jessup of the United States Marine Corp from the movie/play, A Few Good Men. That man, is a racist, sexist, homophobic, cowardly man whom was willing to throw two of his own loyal men, one of which a black person named Lance Corperal Harold Dawson, under the bus for following his orders. Orders that, he enforced despite the overall USMC declaring them illegal. In this case, a cadet named William Santiago, was given a Code Red. A term for military hazing in which in his case they were gonna tie him up and shave his head. However due to circumstances they didn't know about, regarding Santiago's health problems, he died when they gagged him. Jessup, rather than take responsibility, instead has them take the fall and nearly get them convicted of murder. He used those lines, on their defence attorney, to justify what he did. To add more salt to the wound, the man has mentored and ordered around a near Templar like, racist, homophobic, Southern Marine Lieutenant who both combines religious fanaticism and military fanaticism together. Said Lieutenant already has a grudge against the father of Dawson's defence attorney, because in his neck of the woods said father argued that a black woman should be allowed to study in a white school. Maybe when you decide to use a username like that, actually look up the source. As someone who watches a lot of movies, I can literally pin point that one by memory. I don't gravitate towards or deny the stuff that Europeans and later Americans did in the past. Nor do I sweep it under the rug, but no matter how small it may be compared to that, you have no right to deny or sweep under the rug the fact that racism swings both ways. Either both are wrong, or none are wrong.

Not sure. It's brilliant either way. Not because I agree with the message but because no one can figure it out. Maybe it's supposed to be a PSA for microaggressions and passive aggressive racism. It comes across as very segregationist. As someone who came from a mixed home and loves his family very much, it disturbed me deeply and seemed anti-white.

The more interracial relationships on the earth's surface is a reflection of the hybrid agenda going on underneath the earth's surface in underground bases. Betty and Barney Hill, one of the first famous abduction couples were an interracial couple. It's the fame that's killing us all from the atomic era of television, radio and internet. People were abducted and sacrificed for alien technology that's permeated our world. Using all this alien technology is playing with knives. The more weirder the people and premise in this movie, Get Out, the greater the hellish trap. These going-to-next-life people are broken and deceived and without Christ. I prefer the way people were in the 1970's and before then, and regular people not television actors. Death is swallowed up in victory and today is the day of salvation in Christ Jesus. It is finished. Christ's work on the cross is finished. God is a God who speaks loving-kindness.
