@@now6942 try reflashing and going through several cycles of turning it off and recalibrating outside. Some models do this and I’m thinking it’s the ones that got the last bad file from go pro.

@@now6942 2501 is the correct file. When updating your camera make sure to use the appropriate software for your model.

You can try reflashing to the old version and back to 2501. I find these controllers to be pretty finnicky and glitchy out of the box. A couple of the drones we have been able to get flying again only work if the drone is turned on before the controller, etc. Since go pro dropped the program we can probably expect glitchy functioning until someone can get a newer version out there that continues the update process correctly.

Hi, if you are still interested I managed to get my karma flying again and had the same issues with laggy controller. Here's what I did: - Started from v.1.1 (drone was in the wardrobe for 6 years, never used), couldn't do anything from that point. - Tried different software from all videos, most of them very laggy or not even starting, except v.1.4 (from Bozmanx video). - Reflashed with v1.4. - Restored to factory settings. - Paired the drone and connected to wifi (open network since I couldn't connect to secured one). - Reflashed to v2.50.1 - very laggy but I've been trying again and again to click on updates in the corner. - Updated the controller and still was very laggy. Tried again and again to update drone and stabiliser. - Once it was done, I reflashed to v1.4, which was stable for me and update of the controller was available in the top right corner. - Updated the controller and everything works now. Took me 3 days to go through all that. Hope it helps anyone who is still struggling.

You may have missed a sequence in the windows program step. Maybe try rebooting or going through that step again. Edit: I posted some new extra material in the comment section.

Most just need the flash, but those that are having pairing issues can benefit from doing that first. I’m trying to reproduce the issue with the stabilizer not pairing that someone else was having, but other than that it should get yours flying again.

@@chevid9015 Mine missed the GPS update and now cannot update. So I have the Calibration Error. Controller has version 2.50. So do you think this flash to 2.5.1 will fix that?

@@muyfelices it’s worth trying if you haven’t before. Make sure you factory reset your controller before flashing, like in my video.

@@chevid9015 One last question…is you were to buy a used non working Karma, would you purchase one with GPS Calibration issue, or Non Pairing? 0.0

@@muyfelices gps calibration probably. Once they are flying they lock on to gps and will self correct. You can force them to take off while they are acquiring gps. I would say pairing but I have yet to figure out why some of the stabilizers aren’t pairing or working.

Did you ever get your karma back up and flying again if not let me know I’m doing repairs

I went through the manual updates for each component and was able to get everything back to where it was operable after downloading the “bad” update from GoPro again. I’m beginning to think that some of these drones had different internal components that led some to not be able to operate ever again after the update. As I have one karma that will not connect or pair after doing my method. I still believe go pro should step up and replace those drones that are still having the issue.

May have a fix for this issue. I’ll update if so. Thanks

I have had 1 drone do exactly what you are saying. I continued through my process and did the Gavin pairing at the end. These things are finicky. Sometimes a controller reset or a reset of the drone gets them going through the process. 11/12 drones flying again. The one I couldn’t get to fly again ended up having a bad gps sensor. Good luck!

It still wouldn’t pair after flashing the controller :/ I think it has something to do with the stabilizer too, it’s not being recognized by the drone

@@carterp6876 do you have the karma grip? I haven’t ran into a stabilizer not functioning. Does the camera power on at all when on the drone?

@@chevid9015 I do have the grip and the stabilizer works just fine in the grip. And no the camera doesn’t turn on when the drone turns on

@@carterp6876 and after flashing were you able to update all the components through the controller? Don’t sign into go pro through the controller once you get it updated. Should be able to update without signing in. Has the stabilizer ever worked on your drone? I’m looking into it today as to what your problem could be. I’m sure you have tried, but take the camera out and power on/off and then put it back in and start it.

It needs the boot image on the drone reflashed on the pc

Final88 will not work on the drone reflash. Make sure you are using the 2501 file on bozmanx video. I’m not sure where you can get the link for final88 image as it has never worked for me.

If you are near an airport, there is not. You will definitely get a visit from someone if you somehow get it flying in a restricted fly zone. Good luck!

It's actually the chip that's the problem. The flash memory. It needs to be replaced. That's how they fixed mine. It took about two months. But now it connects and flies again. Look for someone in your city who repairs drones and can re-solder this chip.

@@Jayscuba It took two months mostly to track down and supply parts. In addition, the first ones that came were defective. And another important note. GoPro Karma should be turned on more often. It needs to work. And when the drone is lying idle for a long time and it had this problem. DJI drones are good. But the GoPro Karma has its own twist. It is different from the Mavic in flight and control.

Thank you, I recommend clearing out the memory on your camera prior to reflashing. Some take several flashes and reboots to work. Good luck

It should work the same. Just download the appropriate update for that model camera from go pro and follow the rest step by step.

I meant with the drone sadly I have already discovered this cam don't even go to the karma drone . Lol. And I bought it through offer up so no returns. Boooo.

How do I know if the Karma I have is the old or new one? They seem to look exactly the same. I acquired mine through an estate sale so I'm lost with this whole ordeal. But I want to fly it.

@@mlplives4thecalm the karma should be compatible up to the go pro 7. They changed a lot on the 8 and it is not compatible. There is really no way to tell which ones will fly and which ones won’t. They are great drones when they work and only really lack the follow me and object avoidance tech that are on the new dji models. I’m about to start accepting drones again to rebuild. If you can’t get it flying, keep me posted. Thanks

@@chevid9015 The gimbal has the two plugs in it and the go pro does not have anything to plug into . Unless there is a gumball that fits the seven and the karma .

Remember to always turn the drone on first! Log out of go pro and keep Wi-Fi off when it says to. Try different flash versions and go back to 2501.
