Great video! 👍 I have a GoPro Karma drone... I'm still using it, every time I put it to fly... I love it. The GoPro Karma engineers did a very good job on this... for the firs and only drone they brought to market. It had failures in the batteries (manufacturer's fault), but not in the internal system of the drone. It's an excellent drone... Hopefully GoPro will one day get their hands on this again. Every time I put it in the sky " Fly like a bird".

Would be even better if it worked, they are a great drone when they fly, but not so much when they no longer work for no reason at all.

I just talked to GoPro Support after they asked me to create a video to document the issue. So then they say they can't fix the problem because it is an end of life product, though they acknowledge that they made a fix available for it a couple years ago. Apparently, they sent out an email saying that it had to be updated by a certain date. I never saw the email. I would like to work with others to organize a class action lawsuit on this. I have followed all the steps to update the camera and connected the controller to wifi and it updated to the latest version. But the drone itself won't update because it doesn't connect with the controller. Seems there are a lot of us that have Karma drones that are not working through no fault of our own. Are you interested in joining a class action lawsuit?

@@rickx40 Do a google search on the address they want you to send the drone to, then look at street view, then ask yourself if what you see looks like an international engineering business employing retired GoPro Engineers. Then do a search on the internet and KZfaq to see if there is any videos, or verified reports of any repaired drones out of the thousands they claim to have repaired. Then please do me a favour and get back to me and reply to this comment with your findings. There is a lot more as well that will be covered in a future video in the new year.

I am in the UK and mine has done the exact same thing as the one you have , and even stranger my Yuneec H has now suffered the same fate with the same symptom even down to having to remove the battery to power down , mine were well taken care of with not even a bumpy landing . it was like they both lost their memories lol

Very strange. Mine worked one minute and stopped the next. If it can’t be fixed maybe sell it for parts. Very annoying though.

Thanks for the update , not watched your new vid yet , but I gave up on mine when I found a new karma core only (no rc , battery etc) , the Core turned up one day on the Amazon UK store dirt cheap for a few bucks , so I grabbed the only one that was available , received and paired to my old controller and bingo one new working Karma , I have flown it without issue , I do not use it much as have the DJI Mini 4 Pro now , I suppose it is only a matter of time before this new karma suffers the same fault as the old one . @@MikesManCave

Mate my drone was virtually brand new, never been crashed, never been abused. Ended up scrapping it and selling off for parts. The France thing is a scam.

No updates yet, I will have to do the next video one of these days, just been too busy with work and family emergencies to be filming and editing video at the moment. Hopefully will get back to it shortly.

I have a question. So my gimbal is responding and drone is in good shape like yours. However the screen on my original controller broke. Should I buy a new controller and try to pair it?

If you want to fly the drone, then yes you will need a new controller if the original one is broken. If you no longer want it then sell what you have.

@@cubswincubswinao any controller should work if everything else is fine, I’ve seen controllers sell pretty cheap from time to time

No, I only own an iMac computer, I think you need a normal PC to do it, even then I don't think I have the computer skill or knowledge how to do it. I have decided NOT to post the drone, and I will be making another video update on this before Christmas, there have been some very strange developments after posting this video.

Mine does the same exact thing. I was using it, landed the drone to switch batteries. After switching batteries the drone will not pair again. Looking for a fix around.

Lots of people blame the software update, but clearly you did not update the software between the two batteries. So makes you wonder what went wrong. I am exploring a few other options at the moment.

I just got mine down from the loft after a few months of having the pairing issue and it came alive. I have no idea what happened. The only advice i have for others is every now and then, give it a try and see what happens

Kinda figure this to be a scam too since they were very specific in asking for every last part of the system, INCLUDING a go pro. Why wouldn't they have one on hand to test with. To me it was a scam to get everyone to send them gopro's so they could re-sell. Nobody ever has said that they used these guys and it was a success. Still holding out hope that one day I can fly this again. Since then, I've gotten a DJI FPV and its pretty sweet.

Yeah Try finding their address, it does not exist, none of the people linked exist, they claim to have international branches that do not exist, the people running them do. not exist. I now have a Mini 3 Pro, I have never looked back to be honest.

It's a scam, the business does not exist. Do a google search and see if it comes up. If you can't find it there is obviously a reason for that.

I think the first thing to do is to try. I think the variant with the replacement of memory is more real. It seems like it is not difficult to re-solder it. You just need to know exactly the type of this memory.

@@MikesManCave I bought a drone recently. Knowing he has a problem. For my GoPro collection. The ad said it didn't turn on. He brought it home, began to understand and the problem turned out to be massive. Turns on but doesn't connect to the remote. I don't have karma grip right now. As soon as I buy it, I'll try to bring it to the workshop so that they can check this memory. As soon as everything turns out, I will write about the results.

@@adammakesstuff2225 For the obvious reasons of being larger, more wind resistant, smoother to fly for better smoother 4K video, better stabilisation from the gimbal as well as build in camera stabilisation. The karma drone flies smoother and better than my Phantom 4 pro that cost four times as much as the karma or Mini 3 Pro does. Better controls, build in touch screen in a clam she'll compact controller, programmed flight paths, programmable flight paths that you can program yourself for autonomous flight which the Mini 3 does not have and that's just for starters. Clearly you have never flown any of these drones, and funnily enough I own all of them.
