Great video about the benefits. Your subscribers can save several hundreds of dollars by just buying the spindle and VFD from Alibaba (GPenny for the spindle and Delixi for the VFD). Takes about 3 weeks to get and are the exact products that you are showing. Spindle and VFD shouldn't cost you more than $350 with shipping.

It blows my mind that trim routers are still used on cnc routers and still recommend as a budget option. We burn these things up all the time at work using them as originally intended.

Nice video. That darn “router/spindle” nomenclature gets me too. My PWN 22 will be arriving mid April but it will be a month later that I can make it work. I’m anxious to learn more about your pond pump set-up before my 1F arrives in May. I’m also curious about the pump alarm you mentioned. Is that an add on or does it come with the VFD (or Masso?)

The pump I used is the one that PwnCNC sells as an option to the spindle kits. I added the sensor and wired it up to the Masso a while after the initial install. It's no problem at all to run with out the sensor..... unless you have a failure. I'll try to get to that video soon.

Well, in my case. This video is about 1 year late. I ordered my Onefinity with the 65MM mount and got a Makita. After a few months (almost from the start) I knew I had made a mistake. The Makita hasn't burned up, but it will burn your fingers after cutting for just a little while and a bit change is required. I am waiting for Onefinity to ship a 80MM mount, last contact with Onefinity said parts are expected mid March. I ordered the tool setter and the breaking stepper motor with the mount. Not sure what is holding things up. Ordered in January along with the PwnCNC 2.2 Kw air cooled. I could have saved the $450 for the 80MM mount by ordering it with my unit and not the 65MM and the shipping (that is not insignificant). Working with PwnCNC is great, they answered all my questions before I placed my order and afterwards they contacted me and suggested changing some things. I followed their advise and think I got the perfect package for my needs. Great customer service.

It was $450 for the 80mm mount? Wow! did that include a whole new Z-20 slider too? Sorry, I'm so late on this one. I wish I could have saved you some pain.

@@UglyDogWoodshop Yes, complete unit. The Z20 is unique in the configuration for 65MM and 80MM. However, I did get the Onefinity Journeyman with a stiffy. One part I will not have to get. It does work. A lot of torque when X Y and Z are jerking back and forth during a cut.

What did you decide was the best dust boot to use for the PwnCNC spindle?

If it's a non-ATC spindle, the answer is easy. I truly believe the Big Suck is the best, both for performance and for usability features. See them here: uglydogwoodshop.com/products/big-sck-dst-bt1. If things go as planned, I'll post a video tomorrow explaining why and showing it in actin. I'm not yet satisfied with the dust boot options for the ATC. I have a design I'm hoping to have prototyped this week, which I think will be an excellent ATC-compatible dust boot. I'll post something on that as soon as it's real.
